Graco Evo Avant Pushchair with Snugride i-Size Baby Car Seat

Last month I announced my partnership with Graco, a great brand that we have used with our girls in the past. My first role as an ambassador has been to test out their Evo Avant pushchair and their Snugride i-Size Baby Car Seat. I wasn’t able to attend their launch event so had to rely on photos to help me choose the pushchair, but I made a great choice in the Avant – especially as it comes in a Breton stripe option!

Don’t you just love it? I wear a lot of stripes and I tend to dress the children in stripes quite a bit too, so people probably think we are all trying to match the pushchair at times! I’m naturally drawn to them though so more the merrier I say!

The Evo Avant is exclusive to Mothercare and is also available in Black Grey, Cranberry, Ocean and Java.

The pushchair is fairly lightweight at 12kg and is easy to push along with the gorgeous tan handle. My favourite part (besides the stripes of course) is the large basket – something I definitely need with various book bags and coats etc… that come along with having 3 kids.

The liner he is sitting on there is actually part of the foot muff that comes with the pushchair. The main liner is the same grey as the hood but I wanted to maximise the stripes!

Another great feature is the adjustable handle, with the press of a button either side, it moves up or down to suit any height. I am 5ft 8 and I have it in line with the rest of the frame so there is plenty of height left should you be taller than me. It is also a one handed collapse using the handle, which is very handy when you need to put it down in a hurry.

Something I really like and not directly to do with the pushchair itself, is the rain cover. Aren’t they always a faff? Well Graco have really thought this through as there is a zip down flap which allows you to get baby in and out or just to allow them to peek out should it stop raining. It can also stay on the main seat when you unclip it from the frame, save taking it on and off should you need it over a longer period of time.

The pushchair can be used from birth, with a 3 position recline, but you are also able to buy the carrycot separately should you want to. It is also fully compatible with the Snugride i-Size Baby Car Seat, clicking onto the base with the Click Connect technology. It took me a while to get the knack of how to pop it on, I think it is because Wills is on the heavier side so that makes it a bit trickier to hold him and look for the connectors.

It is so handy to be able to take him out in the car seat if we are nipping to get the girls, rather than unstrapping him all of the time. He isn’t the biggest fan of being strapped in so the less I can upset him the better. The seat also fits onto all of the other strollers in the Evo family and is compliant with the new R129 car seat regulations.

It is also quite a roomy seat considering it is suitable from birth. It comes with quite a few removable padded sections to make it smaller but obviously with Wills being 10 months now, he doesn’t need anything. It is suitable up to 18 months and I would definitely say there is room. I also love that the harness automatically adjusts as you raise the headrest – no more fiddly straps to thread in and out!

On the subject of car seats – did you see I posted a ‘how-to’ for carrying them in a more efficient way on my Facebook Page? I absolutely promise you Wills was in the seat here but I don’t look like I am struggling do I? Go check it out – I promise your back will be saved!

The seat clicks easily onto the ISOFIX base, which is a fab little unit in itself. It has multiple recline positions to change with your growing baby and also has a super long foot, which is the only one I’ve found that fits in our Peugeot 5008 foot wells.

I am really impressed with the functionality of the whole travel system and as with all Graco products you know that they have been rigorously tested and have baby’s safety at their core.

This post is written in collaboration with Graco but all words and thoughts are my own.

  1. I’m a huge Breton fan too and this looks like such a stylish pushchair! I love how upright and supported Wills looks – so great for allowing them to look around and see everything. And yes – the raincover on my pushchair is a right pain, so often I avoid putting it up unless it’s really raining heavily, so it’s great to have a better solution to that too.

  2. Ooo I love look of the Evo Avant! It’s handy when the carry seat can hook on like that. I really like how the seat is high up & there is plenty of room to put things in the basket below the seat. This looks like a really fab pushchair.

  3. I’ve been a fan of Graco ever since my oldest was a baby. They make some really fantastic, reliable products 🙂

  4. Whilst I may be well last my pram days (Boo is six in just over a week!) I still can’t help but have soft spot for them. I’m liking the stripes, especially as they match his top!

  5. I did the same with the liner too, loving the stripes! And I often dress G in stripes when he’s in there, and also wear my matching top, there have been comments…. x
