A few weeks ago we got up bright and early and travelled down to Kent for an exciting day out. Blogging has opened up our world so much and we get to take part in so many exciting projects and I will always be thankful.
This was something a little different though as we were going to be working directly with a brand rather than being contracted to do something at home.
Regatta are a brand I’ve always loved and we have always bought our outdoor clothing from them. However I have never had reason to buy camping equipment and so knew nothing about what they offer. Mr F loves camping though and really wants to take the girls.
The task for the day was to dress a tent along a theme – I chose Family Festival as that would be how I would dress our tent if we were to go camping. This meant making it kiddy friendly as well as having home comforts – I am 7 months pregnant after all!!
Now, I haven’t been camping in years and years, so I am not the best person to turn to when thinking about what to take camping. However, as a mum I do seem to have an inbuilt ability to pack the essentials and so sent over a list of things I thought we might need ahead of the day.
We were kitted out with a festival pack, including wellies, waterproof jackets and some gorgeous tops for the girls, for myself and Mr F. Thankfully the weather was on our side and we didn’t need our waterproof jackets but the girls are welly addicts and loved stomping around in their boots all day.
I really enjoyed styling our tent and actually the girls were a bit disappointed that we weren’t going to be staying in it over night. It is just the right size for us, being a 4-man tent, although as the kids grow we will have to start using a larger one.
I have promised them that we will go camping at some point this summer. Probably not the most sensible thing to do when pregnant but I love the idea of packing up the car and setting off for a family adventure.
One of the girls’ favourite things were their little camping chairs – they have been using them most days since!
Of course no family campsite would be complete without adult chairs and a table. The chairs are super comfortable too and we took them to the Duxford Airshow the other day and I was so thankful not to have to sit on the ground.
Regatta sell everything from chairs, tables, clothing and even outdoor essentials such as camping knives. Whatever you need, they have you covered!
The on site photographer caught this photo of me and the girls and I adore it! We had such a great day and it has made me see that I can go camping and still have home comforts.
If you want to see the finished tent, as well as some other behind the scenes bits and bobs then check out my vlog of the day…
Now, I have a favour to ask! As part of the campaign, we are submitting our finished ‘look‘ to win a competition. We are up against Lori from Wild and Grizzly and the lovely Karen from Mini Travellers and their tents were amazing – but obviously we want to win haha!!
The winner will get a family ticket to Kendal Calling 2016. Have you been before? I haven’t been but camping in the Lake District sounds amazing! The Lineup also looks amazing – I want to see Rudimental and Jason Manford.
If you could pop on over to the competition page and vote for us I would love you forever! And the best bit? By voting, YOU get to enter to win a family ticket to Kendall Calling too PLUS a camping kit for the whole family worth over £900!! How amazing is that?
Have you got any top festival tips, should I brave going in the next month or so? You never know – we could both be at Kendall Calling!! Good luck!
