Spread The Joy: Live A Lighter Life

The sunny weather is making me feel so much brighter, I wish it would hurry up and be summer already! These winter months can really drag can’t they? Some days are so dark and dismal it can really drag your mood down and leave you feeling blue. I always try and focus on the happy, sharing my happy moments in my Happy Days Linky each week, so when Babybel contacted me about their new campaign I was keen to join in.

They want to encourage people to have a lighter start to the year and have been working with Stacey Solomon to help spread the joy.

Stacey Solomon leads London commuters in a group pogo along London’s Sou...(2)

Her first task was to lead a mass pogo stick to work– I have not been on a pogo stick for years and can just imagine how much joy this would have brought to those joining in as well as those watching from the sidelines!

Babybel surveyed the UK to find out what makes us happy and see which areas were the most joyful at this time of year.

What Makes The UK Joyful In Winter

The South West seems to be the happiest and I can completely understand this – my best friend lives in Devon and it is gorgeous! I live in East Anglia – 9th on the list – oops!

Stacey, along with Babybel want to help people stay joyful and so have a few top tips to share:

  • Take time out and ring an old friend for a catch-up.
  • Smile at people as you pass them on the street.
  • Embrace your inner child and do a child-like activity – pogo stick anyone?
  • Sing in the shower!
  • Don’t dwell on the past.

Another tip is to eat healthier – it always makes me feel better when I cut out the junk food and live a lighter life. I was challenged to make a healthy recipe using the scrummy Babybel Lights. I had a lot of fun with it as normally we only use Babybels as a snack or part of a picnic lunch. A new favourite lunch idea (one that Mr F gets credit for) is loaded potato skins.

Loaded potato skins

Simply bake your jackets as normal, cut them in half lengthways and scoop out the middles. Mash the potato and mix in some bacon and chopped Babybel light. Scoop it back into the skins and grill. Yum!!

I have another delicious recipe to share with you so go take a look at that – you will be using Babybel as an ingredient from now on too! Enjoy!

What are your tips for a joyful life?
