Recipe Box: Ham & Cheese Puff Parcels

I was asked by Babybel to come up with a recipe using Babybel Light as an ingredient. If you’ve seen my post you will know I made very delicious loaded potato skins. However, I had so much fun looking for recipes I wanted to share another one with you – I promise you are going to love it- easy to make and so tasty you will be wanting more!

I am a real pastry lover and so anything that involves a bit of puff pastry is always going to be a winner in my eyes! I use ready-made and actually I heard Mary Berry say that she only ever uses ready-made puff pastry too so that made me feel much better! Haha!

Puff parcels

You will need 2 circles per parcel, making sure that the circle leaves about a 1cm gap around the edge of one Babybel circle.

Babybel and ham parcels

Once you have your circles, cut each Babybel in half so you have 2 circles (not two semi-circles) and place one half on each pastry circle and sprinkle a little ham on top- I used normal ham but I actually think smoked ham might taste really good with this recipe.

Brushing puff pastry with milk

Brush a little water or milk around the outside and place the second circle on top, pressing down the sides with a fork. Brush some milk or egg wash on top of each parcel and pop them in the oven at 200C.

Mine took about 15 minutes but keep an eye on yours as every oven is different.

Babybel and Ham Puff Parcels

Leave to cool for 5-10 minutes as the cheese is super hot! We made 11 parcels from our pastry sheet and believe me, next time I will be buying 2 sheets- so so moreish!!

Pin it for later:

Ooh Katy what a fabulously simple idea, yet fantastic result. Perfect warm on a cold day or for picnics in the summer. My brain is already whizzing as to how I could turn these into adult spicy nibbles. Love your easy to follow recipe style - actually love your blog!! Sammie xx
