We woke up to gorgeous sunshine on Sunday and decided to go for a walk through the countryside that surrounds our town. My sister has a dog and so we invited her along as he loves to run around the fields to stretch his little legs. We wrapped up warm but actually it wasn’t even that cold, the perfect weather for a stroll.
We walked for a good mile or so before we came to the first field. As we decided which way to go next, the girls had taken it upon themselves to run into the field. It took a while to coax LJ out too, she wanted to carry on running deeper into the field!

I have not been on a country walk for a while and I don’t think I have ever shown the girls the various berries you find in the bushes.
There is something so satisfying picking your own food. I really want to make a space in our garden to grow more food. We grew strawberries this year and are currently keeping our fingers crossed that our garlic bulbs survive the winter! I do love berries though and may have to go back and pick enough to make some jam!
Am I the only one who insists on having a kiss when I walk through a kissing gate?
My sister’s dog is so cute, he is a cockapoochi and has the nicest nature of any dog I have ever known. He is so teeny I almost tread on him half the time!
Do you love my poppy? I have wanted a sparkly one for years and was kindly sent this from Buckley London who make The Official Poppy Collection each year. All profits go to The Royal British Legion and PoppyScotland so take a look if you want to sparkle this year and use BLOGGEROCT for 25% off your order!
We carried on our walk and stumbled upon some horses who were more than happy to come and say hello.
I really want to get the girls horse riding lessons at some point, I loved it as a child and know they would love it too. I always think there is something so magical about horses don’t you?
Just before we made our way home, we found some swings. I always struggle with taking photos on swings but this one made me laugh so much I had to include it. Little G was laughing hysterically as she was warning me not to get too close or she would kick me with her wellies- she almost did too!
We got home and decided it was time to crack open the hot chocolate! I am not normally one for hot drinks but I make an exception for hot chocolates after I have been out in the cold.
This was a extra special hot chocolate though as it was white chocolate- my absolute favourite! I would have been happy to drink the whole lot myself but I did share I promise!
Do you love my slippers? I wore them especially as we were taking part in Get Santa watch-along on Twitter. A great film if you are looking to get one for this Christmas. I love all Christmas movies really so any new one is always happily received.
We also enjoyed this amazing popcorn from Joe & Seph’s, honestly if you want the smell of Christmas in edible form then this ginger caramel flavour is the one you need in your life!
All in all it was a pretty perfect day, full of sunshine, rosy cheeks and laughter. Finished off nicely with snuggles on the sofa with my little family. We have decided to try and go for a walk each Sunday if the weather allows, it left us all feeling refreshed and happy inside.

This sounds like the loveliest of days. I love lazy Sunday's like this. They are the nicest! I especially like having a brisk walk and then snuggling up on the sofa and watching a movie afterwards. It looks like I need to buy some of that white chocolate hot chocolate to accompany those snuggly afternoons. And I love that poppy. Thanks for linking up to #SundaysStars. I am sorry that it has taken me so long to comment. Hugs Mrs H xxxx

Love the cockapoochi! I'd love a dog but it's just not feasible in our family as we're both out of the house in the daytime. Great to borrow one to go for a walk though! #sundaystars

What a lovely day out! And OMG your sister's dog is adorable. I've never heard of a cockapoochi before, I'm assuming the chi bit is from chihuahua.
