Smart Smiles with the Oral-B GENIUS 9000

I have been meaning to get an electric toothbrush for absolutely ages, but never seem to get around to it. I have had one in the past but the battery life was shocking and to be quite honest I could do a better job with a normal brush. But when Oral B asked if I would like to try out the new Oral–B GENIUS 9000 I couldn’t resist – let me tell you why it is so genius… 

It has inbuilt bluetooth technology that lets it connect to an app. I mean how clever is that? Now you might wonder what on earth you would need that for but honestly it is clever and fun!

The toothbrush comes with a little suction attachment that allows you to pop your phone in, that way you can see the app while you brush. This is clever for two reasons; first you have a timer that means you brush your teeth for the recommended time but second, it knows where you are brushing and tells you if you haven’t spent enough time in any particular area!!

When you are finished it will tell you if you have done well – let me tell you if you are competitive then this is great! I always aim for gold stars all round!! Since using it I don’t think my mouth has ever felt so clean and I know it is because I am now focusing on the hard to reach areas more. The dentist often tells me I could try and reach them better – I am excited for her to give me the thumbs up when I next see her!

So the brush itself is great, with different functions to choose from. I particularly like the whitening option which gently buffs the tooth compared to a vigorous brush. There is also a handy tongue brushing option. I also really like that it tells you if you are brushing too hard by flashing red, so clever!

It comes with a base for recharging and this also houses the different heads. I am using the whitening head but you can get others, including a gentle head if you have sensitive teeth.

The set also includes a handy travel case which also doubles as a charging unit via a USB port. So handy as you will more than likely have your phone charger cable with you and these days they all use USB too don’t they? Oh and that’s not all – it holds charge so you can actually charge your phone too! Love that!

The case opens out to house your phone so you can use the app on the go too. Everything about this product has been so well thought out and designed, I am really impressed.

Like I said, my teeth have never felt cleaner and actually I have been using the whitening option and accompanying 3D White® Luxe Perfection toothpaste and my teeth are noticeably whiter too – bonus! If you are looking for a new toothbrush and fancy trying an electric one, honestly the Oral-B Genius 9000 is truly genius!
