Inside: Simple Easter Basket Filler Ideas Kids Will Love.
Kids of all ages love Easter time, with shops tempting them with Easter eggs as soon as Christmas is out of the way. But if you want to make the Easter Sunday about more than just chocolate, then Easter basket gifts are a great way to give children something meaningful, fun, and creative.
All you need to do is find yourself a box or basket and fill it with a selection of treats, activities and seasonal items. You can even hide it and leave clues from the Easter Bunny to make it into a fun scavenger hunt for them to enjoy. No matter the age or interest, there are plenty of gift ideas to suit.
I started an Easter basket tradition a couple of years ago and my kids absolutely love it. So, I have put together a list of different fillers to get you started with your Easter fun too.
What container can I use?
Of course the obvious idea for an Easter basket is … a basket! But what if you don’t have one lying around or don’t want to buy one especially for the occasion?
There are plenty of alternative containers you can use…

You don’t even need to buy new – you can simply use whatever container you have around the home unless you specifically want to make the container part of the gift. Most of the time I use a wooden crate – I fill it with colourful tissue paper and then arrange the goodies inside.
Gift ideas for Easter
Depending on the age of your children and their varying interests, you’ll want to mix and match these ideas. I’ve broken them down into younger and older kids to help. Of course, each child is different so take a look at both lists to see if there is anything your child would enjoy.
Easter basket fillers for little kids
Little kids are always so excited to come down on Easter morning to see what the Easter Bunny has left them. Putting together a basket with their favourite things will ensure they don’t just sit and eat chocolate all day, but instead engage with the different activities you have included inside. These gifts are perfect for toddlers to 7 year olds.

As kids get older, they don’t necessarily show that they want to be included in these traditions, but they would be pretty disappointed if they were left out I can tell you. If you have a teenage girl or boy then here are a few ideas to keep them involved.

Having a themed basket (other than just being Easter themed) is a fun way to tie everything together – especially if it is filled with fun things that tie in with their interests.

Putting an Easter basket together can be so much fun and is a great way to introduce the idea that non-candy items are just as great as those Easter eggs they have been eyeing up for weeks.
