Inside: Review of the Simba Hybrid® Mattress. Press sample included.
When Simba got in touch to ask if we would like to review their Hybrid® Mattress, the answer was an immediate yes from all of us.
We already have several Simba mattresses in our home, along with a king-size mattress topper on our bed, and over the years we’ve gradually become a bit of a Simba household. Once you’ve slept on one, it’s very hard to go back. So when the opportunity came up to try one for our daughter’s new bed, we were genuinely excited.

Our daughter had been asking for a double bed for quite some time. Not because she suddenly needed the extra sleeping space, but because her bed was always overflowing with cuddly toys, blankets and books. If you’ve ever walked into a child’s bedroom and wondered how a single mattress could possibly hold so many beloved things, you’ll know exactly what I mean. Every night seemed to involve a complicated rearranging process just to make enough room for her to actually lie down.
Moving to a double bed suddenly gave her the space she needed. Now all of her favourite toys can stay on the bed without her feeling like she’s balancing on the edge. It’s made bedtime feel much calmer and cosier for her, and if I’m honest, I’m a little bit jealous of how luxurious her bed now looks.
The mattress itself arrived rolled and boxed, which is always slightly magical to watch. There’s something very satisfying about seeing a mattress expand into shape within a few minutes. The whole process was quick and straightforward.

One of the things we love most about Simba mattresses is the balance they strike between comfort and support. The Hybrid® Mattress combines layers of foam with pocket springs, which means you get that soft, cushioned feeling when you first lie down, but without sinking too deeply. It still feels supportive and properly structured.
For a child who wriggles and moves around as much as ours does during the night, that balance is actually really important. She needed something comfortable, but also something that would support her growing body and encourage good sleep posture.
The first night she slept on it, she told me the next morning that it felt “like sleeping on a cloud”. That might sound dramatic, but it’s honestly the reaction most of us have had when switching to a Simba mattress.

And because we already use a Simba mattress topper ourselves, we know exactly what she means. When you get used to that level of comfort, it really does change how well you sleep.
Sleep is something we take quite seriously in our house. Life is busy, the days are full, and a good night’s sleep makes such a difference to how everyone feels the next day. Over the years we’ve slowly made small changes to improve our sleep environment with better mattresses, better pillows, and creating bedrooms that feel calm and comfortable.
Simba has become a big part of that.
We also all use Simba pillows, which are another favourite in our house. They somehow manage to feel both soft and supportive at the same time, which isn’t always easy to find in a pillow. Once we tried them, the rest of our old pillows quickly disappeared.

What we particularly like about Simba as a brand is the thought that clearly goes into the design of their products. The Hybrid® Mattress isn’t just soft foam, it’s designed with multiple layers that work together to regulate temperature, provide airflow, and offer the right level of support throughout the night.
That breathability is something we’ve really noticed across all the Simba mattresses we’ve owned. Nobody wakes up feeling too hot, which is something that used to happen quite a lot with our old mattresses.
For children especially, having a mattress that helps regulate temperature can make a huge difference to how settled their sleep is.
And most importantly, our daughter absolutely loves it. Her bed has quickly become her favourite place to read, relax and wind down at the end of the day. The extra space means her room feels more grown up, but still full of all the cosy things she loves.

If you’re considering upgrading a child’s bed, especially if they’re ready to move from a single to a double, I genuinely think investing in a good mattress is one of the best things you can do. It’s something they’ll use every single night for years, and good sleep is such a gift.
For us, Simba has consistently delivered on comfort, quality and thoughtful design. We’ve tried quite a few of their products over the years now, and every single one has lived up to the promise of a better night’s sleep.
So it’s safe to say that our daughter’s new double bed, complete with her Simba Hybrid® Mattress, has been a huge success.
