Siblings: May

May? May? How are we in May? I am starting to panic about the time flying a bit too fast now – I only have 3 more siblings posts and then the fourth one will definitely have baby in it! Argh!! If I end up with a c-section I may only have 2 left!!

We are ready for him to arrive in the sense that I have everything completely ready for him (I’m a keeno) but I am not quite there yet mentally. So, I am going to treasure these last few siblings posts, my two girls as they are right now in time. Blimey I am so hormonal, getting all teary just thinking about it all. I am not so good with change so the time flying isn’t really the best thing for me, although in a way I am glad as nobody wants their pregnancy to drag do they?

This month has seen a shift in their relationship, for the first time ever they have been arguing. Well I say arguing, it is more of a squabble at this age isn’t it? There is a definite struggle for power and it all comes from the fact that LJ is talking more and wanting to have everything her own way (hello those ‘terrible’ twos). I think it also has a lot to do with the fact that they come from a long line of competitive family members – not on my side I should add, blaming Mr F completely for this one.

The main thing that they seem to fight over is who is first at anything, mainly who is first to reach the front door. I have to make sure I take turns getting each of them out of the car so they get equal chance at being first every time and it is driving me bonkers.

It is all very foreign to me as having such a big age gap between myself and my sister we just never squabbled over anything. I don’t think we have ever fought over anything at all come to think of it, still time eh? Mr F has two younger brothers and they have always done the whole play fighting thing and are incredibly close as adults – so I guess that is a positive even if they are driving me mad now!

As much as we have had a month of squabbling, we have also had a month of laughter. These photos were taken on location for a project we are a part of and as soon as I saw the big field I knew I had to quickly take a few (hundred) snaps of the two of them together. They are still inseparable and have started hugging and kissing each other goodbye now without any prompting from me. All very cute, especially at the school gates!

With the sunshine seemingly more frequent now I am hoping lots of our photos will be outside from now on. Of course it could easily snow tomorrow couldn’t it? Haha!!
