Siblings: August

Well he isn’t here at the time of writing this although by the time this goes live who knows! Just as well he hasn’t come as yet as I have been busy galavanting! Haha!! My diary is wide open now though so he can come whenever he likes!

So, my girls in August – how have they been? Hmm, in all honesty they have been driving each other mad! LJ is so used to being alone in the day that actually she is fighting back against having her sister home for the holidays. That plus she is a fully fledged toddler so knows her own mind and knows how to stand up for herself. The other morning I woke to screams coming from their room and in my bleary eyed state, wasn’t quite sure what on earth was going on!!

I say all this but they are still inseparable. Funny thing relationships between siblings isn’t it? I guess it is a little like being an old married couple – you drive each other crazy but you couldn’t be apart. It is the little things I notice between them, the holding out of a hand as they walk along, the ‘I’ll get your cup for you’. I don’t know, you just know that they care about each other and love each other to bits.

messing around in August

LJ’s speech has come along so well in the past 6 months, from being totally mute to being able to say full sentences. She still prefers to talk to her sister over anyone else though and if you were to see us out and about she wouldn’t talk the whole time. She’s even shy in front of me and Mr F, chattiness is reserved for her favourite person and I am glad of that.

Little G revels in it actually and has taken it upon herself to teach her new words every day. We have a few first words books, so she sits with her and gets her to repeat the words back to her. She is also teaching her the alphabet – a job that I should be doing (in the future mind you) but in all honesty I don’t think she would enjoy it as much if it was me doing it.

Happy sisters

So that is it really, my two gorgeous girls – fighting one minute and laughing the next. And so ends an era in my Siblings series – I can say with certainty that next month will include a little brother. Eeeeeek!
