Inside: Review of Sea Life Centre Great Yarmouth. Press tickets.
We love animals, we love going to the zoo and to the farm. But most of all we love sea animals so going to an aquarium is always a good day out for us.
SEA LIFE Great Yarmouth Aquarium is situated on the sea front and is home to penguins, crocodiles, turtles and clownfish. Go through their iconic sea tunnel, get hands-on with starfish and learn about all of the creatures in our oceans. The perfect day out for families!
We were invited along to Great Yarmouth for the day and given tickets to review the SEA LIFE centre – it was a lovely start to our exciting day.
Who are SEA LIFE?

SEA LIFE own and run 53 attractions around the world and offer close encounter experiences as well as education and entertainment to showcase sealife from around the world.
With 11 sites around the English coast (as well as one in Loch Lomond, Scotland), you can enjoy a day at the seaside and then have a great time learning about different sea creatures.
What to expect
You have to book a time slot to arrive (correct as of 14.08.21) and so we arrived at 10.20 on the dot and walked into the foyer to find it empty. You are asked to sanitise when you walk in and masks are advised but not compulsory.

We showed our tickets and were offered activity packs for the kids for an extra £4 so I got those to keep them busy on the way around.
The centre wasn’t busy although you could see families ahead of you and could hear more behind. The only time we came into contact with anyone was if we stood for too long, but even then it wasn’t crowded at any point.

Once you have shown your tickets you head into the main part of the centre. You are given the chance to have your photo taken against a green screen, being able to pick up the photos at the end.
You then work your way through the centre, exploring different zones with different creature focuses.

The Jellyfish were fascinating as always – I could stare at them for hours!

The Humboldt penguins were a highlight – some of them are currently going through their annual feather shed which makes them look quite comical!

My favourite display is always the tropical fish – I would love to have a fish tank at home. There are so many different types and they are all so beautiful.

The crocodile enclosure was Lily’s favourite – she couldn’t believe her eyes when she spotted the two crocs.

The giant tank is always a highlight, with the turtles, sharks and various fish to try and spot.

And of course the iconic tunnel – it is always so magical to have all of the creatures swimming above you. I could spend all day there. You can see how empty it was here too – so we had the tunnel to ourselves to enjoy.

Just before you head into the gift shop you are given the chance to have a hands-on experience with some star fish and anemones. Everyone had to wash their hands before and after and everyone was given plenty of time to experience it.

Of course we had to have a look around the gift shop and the kids had been given some money from Grandad so treated themselves to some cuddly toys as mementos of their day.
We had such a lovely time and it was the perfect way to start our day in Great Yarmouth before heading on to the Hippodrome Circus later in the day.
