When I caught the news the other day I was not prepared for what I was going to see. As a rule I avoid the news as it makes me feel sad but it is this sadness that has driven bloggers to write these posts today. You will have seen the images of little Aylan, being carried up the beach after being found washed up on the shore.

Those images will haunt me forever.

Tears fill my eyes when I think of that poor little boy and I just keep thinking, that could have been my own children. My little girls are lucky to live here in the UK, Aylan was not so lucky. His family are heartbroken, they tried their best to escape their country only to end up losing their children. We have to do something! We have to help!

We have started this campaign in the hope that it will send out a powerful message, one that will resonate with everyone and raise a lot of money and awareness. Social media is a powerful tool, let’s use it for the greater good.

The message is simple, it needs no explanation and I hope you will join us by sharing your own black and white image on social media along with the words It could have been me/us. You can use your children, your whole family or just you. It could have been any of us. Sharing along with #SaveSyriasChildren on social media will help spread the message and join in with the bigger picture.

More than anything we want people to donate. As a campaign we are working with Save The Children but of course you can choose who you want to support- as long as they get help it doesn’t matter where it comes from.
