Towards the end of last year we discovered a love for walking. Not hiking or anything extreme like that, but just a gentle amble through the countryside. We are really lucky that we live in a county that has lots of greenery- not 5 minutes from our house is full-on countryside, dung and all!
Mr F’s dad had asked us if we would like to go for a New Year’s Day walk and at the time it was that lovely autumn weather we were experiencing so I agreed. Had I known that it would be absolutely freezing I am not sure I would have agreed! Haha! Still, it wasn’t raining so we put on our hats and gloves and set off!

Little G spent most of the walk with her aunt and uncle, they are so good with the girls- I am so thankful to have them near.
LJ had a ride on daddy’s shoulders for some of the way but she actually managed most of the 5 mile walk on her own two legs. Not something Little G would have been willing to do at 2 years old!
Do you love my new hat? If I could wear it to bed I would!
The girls had a little sit down and a snack (healthy as ever haha) and had their eye on some kids in a den. As soon as the crisps were eaten they were in there like a shot!
After an afternoon of adventures in the woods, fingers blue and bellies ready for dinner, it was time to head home. Family walks are most definitely going to be a regular thing, it leaves us feeling refreshed and ready for the week ahead.
