Themed Weeks: Minibeasts

Our Minibeasts Themed Week

themed week activities

I have really enjoyed this week although once again work has got in the way of be able to do more activities. The next two weeks are going to have to be time off too as we are on holiday. Thankfully it is the summer holidays soon so I will be able to get back on track with these weeks!

We bought a bug hunt kit ages and ages ago and finally had chance to use it this week. Both girls really enjoyed looking under pots and in the flower beds to find different minibeasts. At one point a giant spider leapt out and tried to kill me but of course I was cool as a cucumber!

Not sure that this can really be classed as weaving but Little G certainly had to take control of the wool and weave it in and out to create a spider’s web. I had to help lots as her arms were going to drop off (cannot think where she gets her ability to over exaggerate …).

Little G loves pom poms and so we made a spider to go with our web. Stuck on some googly eyes and voila!!

Have you got any minibeast activities you enjoy?

I love your themed weeks. It’s such a great idea. I would never have thought of weaving for a bug week. You come up with some amazing relatable crafts. 😀 xxx

Fantastic spider and web! Can’t wait till mine are older and have the dexterity to do this (though I may just do it myself for now!) #kidscorner

Oh wow, the spider’s web is so good, and that spider is the cutest spider I’ve ever seen! That’s so clever to make a spider out of a pom pom! 🙂 x
