Our Cars Themed Week

We have had a bit of a rushed week and so not been able to do as many car related activities as I would have liked. There are so many different things you can do and I hope, if you noticed our little shout out in #KidsCorner, that you have been able to join in.

CARS

Obviously if you are going to have a cars week you have to do the basics and play with cars. Both mine love cars and can spend ages whizzing them around the living room. I got this little mat for £1 on Amazon a while back and although it isn’t amazing it does the job.

PAINTING

Painting is the favourite activity of the moment, we used sponges to colour the paper and once they were dry I cut out car shapes. The girls splodged the glue on and we added the wheels. A simple activity but they really enjoyed it.

PRINTING

This was a total nightmare with Little L haha! The idea is great, wheel the cars through paint and make tracks on the paper. Unfortunately when you have an 18 month old it means they throw the cars onto your cream rug when they have finished with each car. Mr F hasn’t noticed the red stain…. yet!

TUFF SPOT

We love our tuff spot and have converted Amy too – hopefully hers has arrived now! I filled it with water and washing up liquid and chucked a couple of sponges in there. The idea was to create a car wash but with all child focused learning it became more about splashing than anything else.

As I say, not as many activities as I would have liked this week. Next week is going to be a real struggle as I am working all week. May just have to be a themed weekend!!
