Sometimes I look at other peoples’ lives and get a pang of jealousy. Maybe they have just got a new car, are off on an exciting holiday or maybe they wear the latest fashions. We lead a very frugal lifestyle and sometimes I get really fed up!
Before I met Mr F I was a bit rubbish at saving money. I blew most of my student loan on clothes and any money I earned was spent before I could blink.
He is really very good at saving, he works in finance so I would expect nothing less! Now that we have to survive on one wage it comes in very handy. We didn’t really notice the drop in money when I gave up work as we had pretty much existed on the one wage before- choosing to save the other wage ‘for a rainy day’.
However, now that it is forced on us I find it really hard. We haven’t been on holiday in 4 years and all of our things are reaching the end of their shelf life.
Anyway, I am rambling now in a moan moan woe is me kind of way! Sorry!!
Yesterday I was sitting in the garden watching my little family playing on the trampoline and nothing else mattered. These frugal days won’t last forever, in fact they will go hand in hand with my children being young and I definitely don’t want to wish those days away.
I love my little family more than anything in the world and so yes other people may have money to spend on whatever they like but I have something better than that. The rest can wait.

Totally agree with what the others have said. It's also sometimes just a matter of attitude – we live a frugal life too, partly self-imposed because we try to be environmentally friendly, and sometimes it's frustrating being the one who is pegging out cloth nappies or getting wet cycling with a bike trailer, but I also love lots of aspects of our simple life too, not least spending so much time with my family and enjoying all the ordinary moments :-)

I have to say I love pegging out my nappies, probably makes me a bit weird haha! My neighbours definitely think I am weird!
