Me & Mine: October

What a month! I absolutely am not going to mention the fact that it has flown by…. 🙂 It has though hasn’t it? Madness!! It has all gone by in a blur really, a sleep deprived blur thanks to our newest addition. He doesn’t even seem that new anymore, it is like he has always been here as he is very much a part of our little family now. He is currently asleep on my chest, his favourite place to be right now and his head keeps rolling to the side as I am typing! Poor child!

Me and my family october 2016

It has just been half term and we have spent the whole week enjoying being together. We haven’t really spent any time together since Wills was born as Gracie started school in the same week and Mr F has been back at work for the last 6 weeks. He took last week off to coincide with half term and so we have made the most of it, going here there and everywhere. So often I put off going anywhere with the three of them so it has been nice to be able to get out and about with another pair of hands! We are all exhausted now and have spent today watching dvds while snuggled under blankets – I think that is my favourite thing to do as a family actually.

This months photos were taken last Thursday at Bewilderwood. Thankfully we had gone with a friend and so I got him to take them for us otherwise I would have had to rig up the tripod and I always feel ridiculous doing it that way!

So how are we getting on? Do you know what? I cannot remember a time when I have been this happy. I know that sounds soppy but it is true – the four of them make me so happy. The family dynamic has already adjusted and we seem to have found a new normal. Even a couple of weeks ago in my Siblings post I was worried that the girls were struggling but having this week all together has helped balance everything and they are back to my happy smiley girls.

Life as a five is so busy but in a nice way. I came from a small family, being an only child until I was 8 years old and then only having one sister from then on. I would always look at bigger families and think how much fun it must be to have so much hustle and bustle. I don’t want to wish the time away but I am so looking forward to when they are all older and have their own families – to have them all round for Sunday dinner and make a fuss of everyone. To me, the bigger the better!

For now though, life is plenty hectic enough with early starts, endless nappy changes and the school run in the week. Our weekends are mainly spent recovering from it all with late starts and dvd afternoons. Like I said though, those days are my favourite kind as I love nothing more than to have my babies snuggled up close to me.

Gorgeous Autumn photos. I agree, I always feel weird setting up tripods in the middle of a public place especially at one of our favorite parks because its' so busy and everyone stares but good on people that do it. Your trio are so adorable. #meandmineproject

Oh I'm with you on loving having a large family - I'm one of two and I always wished I had more siblings, and I love having my little trio around. These are gorgeous pictures - what a beautiful place to explore :)

I know what you mean about the tripod - I always feel like a right fruit-loop doing that in really public places! The newborn days are crazy when you've got older kids aren't they? Only thing is that they're over sooner than we wish! Lovely autumnal photos x

So glad that you are so happy being a family of five - you all certainly look very happy in your photos and I love how the girls are bundled up in their pretty hats, gloves and scarfs and Wills in his snowsuit. Gorgeous photos of you all :-)

We spent half term as a family too, and it really makes every more special doesn't it.. and easier! Haha. I love hearing about your new dynamic - I grew up with 6 siblings and although it was a mad house, it was the best. It's definitely made me want another! xx
