I am always so busy, whether it is being home with the girls doing crafts, hanging out the millionth load of washing or staying up late editing photos and movies for my blog. Either way I do not spend enough time relaxing and having ‘me time’. I have recently started reading again – after years of never making the time to read a page or two. It has been so nice to switch off from all other duties, to focus on something for me.
Well, my next little project is to take time to focus on baby. Obviously he will have my full attention once he is here, but I mean before he arrives. I have started saying no to projects and have just a few more bits to finish off and then I will start some sort of maternity leave. Not that I will disappear completely but I just don’t want deadlines and pressures looming over me. I will probably still pop on to ramble about how I am doing with 3 children to look after though!
A while back I was contacted by Button Bag, a gorgeous company who sell just the cutest things. I decided that I wanted to make something for baby, something that he could have in his room and keep forever. I had intended on starting sooner but time has run away with me and so I have only managed a little bit so far. But, in just over a week I will have finished off all work duties and I will be able to sit down at night and relax – taking my time to cross stitch him a lovely sampler.
Have you ever done cross stitch? It is so easy and quite therapeutic! The gorgeous kits from Button Bag make it really simple and comes with everything you need to get going. The only thing I found was that I need to use my own needle with a bigger eye but otherwise everything included is fab. It would make the perfect gift, as would any of the kits actually. I had my eye on their cushion kit and if I’d had room for a nursing chair I would have picked that so I could make myself a comfy cushion!
I cannot think the last time I made anything by hand – probably not since D&T lessons at school when I made a bag for my sister! I am really looking forward to spending time making something for my baby boy, I am going to get so much satisfaction in finishing it. I just hope I finish it before he comes!!
