Inside: Is the Luna Smart Ring Worth It for Sleep, Fitness and Daily Health? Press sample included.
If you have been curious about smart rings and whether they are actually worth it, I recently had the chance to test the Luna Ring Gen 2.0 and share my honest thoughts.
Smart rings are becoming more popular as an alternative to fitness watches, offering a more subtle and comfortable way to track your health. The Luna Ring promises to deliver detailed insights into sleep, activity, and overall wellbeing, all without a monthly subscription.
After wearing it consistently, here is my full Luna Ring review, including what I loved, what could be improved, and whether I think it is worth considering.

Choosing a ring
Before receiving the actual Luna Ring, you are sent a sizing kit which is a really helpful step in the process. The kit includes plastic replicas of each ring size, allowing you to try them on properly at home rather than guessing. This is especially important with a smart ring as you want a fit that is secure but still comfortable enough to wear day and night.

Once you have found the size that feels right, you simply confirm it and your actual Luna Ring is then sent out. It is a thoughtful touch that helps ensure a much better overall experience from the start.
First impressions of the Luna Ring
The first thing I noticed about the Luna Ring was the design. It is sleek, minimal, and genuinely looks like a normal piece of jewellery rather than a piece of tech.

This is important because it means you actually want to wear it. Unlike some fitness trackers that can feel bulky or out of place, the Luna Ring is lightweight and comfortable enough to wear all day and night. I often forgot I had it on, which is exactly what you want from a wearable device.

It is also worth mentioning the presentation, which really adds to that positive first impression. The ring arrives inside its charging case, but the whole set is packaged within a beautiful dark blue box that feels very premium. It has that luxury unboxing feel, making it seem like more than just a piece of tech and more like a special purchase or gift. It is a small detail, but it definitely elevates the overall experience.
Luna Ring app and AI assistant
The Luna Ring app is where most of the value comes from. It collects your data and presents it in a way that is easy to understand, even if you are not particularly tech minded.
One of the standout features is the built-in AI assistant called Life OS. This takes your data and turns it into personalised insights and suggestions.

Instead of just showing graphs and numbers, it explains what they mean and how they relate to your daily life. You can also ask questions and get tailored advice, which makes the experience feel much more interactive and useful.
For example, I was able to look at my sleep data and ask where I could improve. The assistant then suggested small, realistic changes that I could implement. After following those suggestions, I did notice an improvement in both my energy levels during the day and the quality of my sleep at night.
Another major advantage is that everything is included in the app. There is no subscription required and no features locked behind a paywall. This is quite rare in the smart ring market and makes the Luna Ring feel like much better value long term.

A small issue with the Luna Ring app
To give a fair and balanced Luna Ring review, I do need to mention a small issue I experienced with the app.
At least once a day, the app logs me out and resets as though I am a new user. This means I have to re-enter basic information such as my height, weight, and preferences before I can access my data again.
It is not a major problem, and it only takes a minute to fix, but it can feel a little frustrating when it happens regularly.
On a positive note, the Luna Ring support team has been responsive and helpful when I reached out. While the issue has not yet been fully resolved, it does feel like something they are aware of and working to improve.
Battery life and charging experience
Battery life is one of the areas where the Luna Ring really performs well.
On a single charge, the ring lasts for several days, which means you are not constantly thinking about charging it. This makes it much easier to wear consistently, especially for sleep tracking.

Charging itself is simple and convenient. The ring comes with a compact surge charging case that holds its own charge. You can carry it in your bag or pocket and top up the ring whenever needed, even if you are not near a plug socket.
This small detail makes a big difference in everyday use and adds to the overall ease of the experience.
Luna Tracking
The Luna Ring tracks a wide range of health metrics, giving you a well-rounded view of your overall wellbeing.
This includes detailed sleep tracking, as well as heart rate data such as resting heart rate, heart rate variability, and average heart rate during sleep.
It also measures stress levels by analysing patterns in heart rate variability, heart rate changes, and movement throughout the day.

In addition, the ring monitors blood oxygen levels (SpO2), respiratory rate, and skin temperature, all of which can offer useful insights into recovery and general health.
Alongside this, it tracks daily steps and activity, and also allows for cycle tracking, helping to build a more personalised picture of your body over time.
Luna Ring sleep tracking review
Sleep tracking was the main reason I wanted to try the Luna Ring, and it has been one of the most valuable features for me.
The app provides a detailed breakdown of your sleep, including REM, deep, and light sleep stages. It presents this information in clear graphs that are easy to follow.

What makes the Luna Ring stand out is how it helps you understand this data. The AI assistant explains what each stage means and how it impacts your overall rest and recovery.
I have been able to use these insights to make small adjustments to my routine. For example, I became more aware of patterns in my sleep and how certain habits affected my rest.

Over time, I have noticed an improvement in my energy levels during the day, as well as a more consistent quality of sleep at night. For anyone specifically looking for a smart ring for sleep tracking in the UK, this is a strong option.
Fitness and activity tracking
In terms of fitness tracking, the Luna Ring covers the basics well.
It tracks your daily steps and can sometimes recognise different types of activity automatically. For instance, if your heart rate increases alongside consistent movement, the app may prompt you to confirm whether you went for a run.
This is a helpful feature as it reduces the need to manually log everything.

If an activity is not picked up automatically, you do have the option to add it manually within the app. While this is not something I use often, it is useful to have the flexibility.
The Luna Ring is not designed to replace a high performance sports watch, but it does provide a solid overview of your daily movement and activity levels.
Additional health insights and tracking
Another feature I really like is the ability to log additional personal information.
You can track things such as medication, personal goals, and menstrual cycles. This allows the app and AI assistant to build a more complete picture of your health.
For me, tracking my cycle alongside my sleep and energy levels has been particularly useful. It has helped me understand patterns in how I feel throughout the month and make more informed choices about my routine.
This kind of holistic approach to health tracking is where the Luna Ring really adds value.
Is the Luna Ring worth it?
If you are considering buying a smart ring in the UK, the Luna Ring is definitely worth looking at.
It combines a stylish design with practical features and genuinely helpful insights. The sleep tracking is a standout, and the AI assistant makes the data much easier to understand and act on.
The lack of a subscription is also a major advantage, making it a more cost effective option over time compared to some competitors.
While the app glitch can be slightly frustrating, it does not take away from the overall experience and feels like something that could be improved with updates.
Overall, I have really enjoyed using the Luna Ring and plan to continue wearing it.
It is comfortable, easy to use, and provides meaningful insights that have helped me improve my sleep and better understand my body.
If you are looking for a smart ring that balances style, functionality, and value, the Luna Ring is a great option to consider.
