Happy birthday!! Five years old – woweeeee!!!
As I write this, you are actually upstairs poorly after a day of being sick – not the best way to start your year as a five year old huh? That’s the thing about being in school, so many germs going around all of the time. I am hoping that by the time this goes live you are back to your smiley self again and able to enjoy opening your presents. The good thing about being ill is you can stay home all day and play with your presents as much as you like!
You will probably wish you were at school today actually, you are loving it so much. Well, I assume you are loving it as you haven’t really given much away. I do know what you have for pudding each day and that you get to play on the big playground – but apart from that you apparently do nothing else all day and certainly don’t play with other children …… sorry you don’t fool me I am afraid!!
You have had such a great year being 4, you’ve made friends in school and become a proper little person. This makes me happy on the one hand but also so sad that you are growing up so quickly. You definitely aren’t a toddler anymore, you are a little girl, my clever little girl. I’ve said it before though and I’ll say it again – you will always be my baby even when you are 100!
I was reading through last year’s letter to see how you have changed – doesn’t seem a minute since I wrote it! You’ve changed, looking at the photos you have definitely grown although I don’t see how as you still fit in half your clothes from last year! In fact half the time you and Lils share clothes and you can’t tell that you are wearing something 2 sizes too small! One thing that has definitely grown is your hair – you want to be Rapunzel when you grow up and you are certainly heading that way. So many people comment on how lovely it is, I just hope you don’t make me cut it all off one day!
I’ve just wrapped your presents ready for the morning. I am so excited for you to open one present in particular – an Elsa dress, the one from Frozen Fever. I know you are absolutely going to freak when you see it!! Eeeeeek!!!! I’ve got you a couple of other dressing up outfits too – so excited to see your face! You are still into things like that but you also still love being outdoors. Your latest thing is climbing on the monkey bars at school – you come home with blisters on your hands most days and at one point I had to ban you from going on them for a week just so you recovered!
Ahhhh 5, I just can’t believe it.
Do you know, I always have so much to say to you but when I come to write these letters I forget it all. I just want you to know I love you. It is hard to show you most of the time as you aren’t the cuddliest of children but I do love you, so much. You make me laugh, you make me happy and you make me proud. You have your moments of course – Lils tests your patience quite a bit these days and you often snap, but on the whole you are the best of friends and I love that. You are a big sister to Wills now too, you are so protective over him and I hope that never changes. I hope he will be your protector too though – I never want you to feel like you have to be the one in charge all the time, you need looking after too.
I am waffling now and I really should go to bed. Hopefully you’ll sleep well and wake up as a fabulous 5 year old! Can’t be any worse than going to bed as a poorly 4 year old, poor lamb.
