Inside: How to put together a cuddle basket easily for any occasion.
I always used to struggle with gift ideas. The shops are filled with so many things but nothing ever seems to be just right. We are always on a strict budget too, so I need to make sure I get the best possible gift for the money we have available.

I discovered a love for making gifts for people a few years ago, there is something so satisfying about collecting bits and bobs that you know that special someone will love. Over the years I have put together various gift baskets, including Christmas hampers, Easter baskets and birthday bundles. They are always so well-received as people know the effort that has gone into putting them together.
What is a cuddle basket?
Imagine the scene, you are at home for date night but having nothing to help make the evening special. This is where a cuddle kit comes in! You fill up a basket, bag or box with all of the things that you will need for a romantic night and voila! – date night is sorted.
The thing is, you are giving more than a cuddle basket – you are giving the gift of your time. Time spent together, dedicated and uninterrupted. I’m sure you’ll agree that is a rarity.
If you are celebrating an anniversary, you can also incorporate something unique to the element of the year into the basket – such as paper for one year, wood for five years, tin/aluminium for 10 years, etc
How To Make a Cuddle Basket
Depending on the occasion, you will want to fill it with a few specific gifts. For example, Valentine’s Day might call for some heart-shaped chocolates and Father’s Day might call for a DVD of his choice. You could also make one for a girls’ night in. Fill it with lots of pampering goodies and take it round to the host! Thoughtful and useful all at the same time! Either way, the main concept remains the same.
Here are some ideas for your cuddle basket;
1 – A blanket big enough for two
2 – A selection of DVDs
3 – Champagne
4 – Chocolate
5 – Candles
6 – Sweets
7- Popcorn
8 – Slippers or thick socks
9 – Facemasks
10 – Pack of cards
Pop on a gift tag and you have the perfect gift for the one you love.
The reason I chose to put it in a basket was so that we can tidy everything away for the next date night but keep the basket out – it looks lovely next to the sofa.
What would you put in your Cuddle Basket?
