We live in a lovely rural area of the country with plenty to do on sunny days, with farms, zoos, beautiful woodland walks and so much more. But what about the rainy days? What about the days when you don’t really fancy being outside? There isn’t that much to do to be honest and we often stay home and watch dvds! Recently though, my friend Lucy mentioned that Hatfield Galleria had a soft play area within the centre itself – shopping and play = happy mummy indeed!
We went along about a month ago and if you follow me on Instagram Stories you may have seen me raving about their baby changing facilities – honestly never seen such a good set-up! I tagged the Galleria and they must have seen as they invited me back to go along for the day, to do a full review of the facilities. Lils loved it there the first time we went so she was excited to go again!
The shopping centre has 80 shops, many of which are outlet (including my absolute favourite shop of the moment – Gap) so you are always able to find a bargain! There are also plenty of restaurants to choose from as well as an Odeon cinema. We used to live just around the corner so that was our local cinema for many years! That was probably the last time we went actually, before we had children – times change and now I am more impressed that they have a soft play there!
Get Wild is the perfect place for young kids to play, Lils and her best friend P had so much fun climbing up high and whizzing down the different slides. Everything is kept nice and clean and the thing that really impressed me was the fact that staff are completely on the ball. I was feeding Wills and Lils fell and hurt herself. She was crying but I hadn’t seen – the staff found her and brought her to me. That is what you want from a children’s area isn’t it? For your children to be safe and well cared for while you may be busy with the younger ones. It is £5 for 2-5 year olds but adults and under 1’s are free which I really like – I always begrudge paying for Wills when all he does is sit!
Once the girls had exhausted themselves, we had a little wander around the shops. The Gap outlet always has 40% or more discounted on their clothes and I just can’t resist! As luck would have it they had a 70% sale on so I treated the girls to some gorgeous t-shirts for summer. They also have a Clarks store with so many discounted pairs – I am definitely going to go back there when it is time for new school shoes!
We decided to go to Harvester for lunch, Lils loves their swirly sausages so it is always a hit with her! Of course we had to make sure we were home in time to pick Gracie up so had to leave after lunch but we had such a lovely day, it was so nice to be able to chill out while the kids played and then be able to do a bit of shopping. Plus, we discovered if you get one of their Privilege cards you get parking for the whole day for only £2. The card also entitles you to discounts in stores – so along with the already discounted prices it is a bargain!
If you are looking for a good day out and Hatfield isn’t too far from you, then pop on down! Perfect for the kids with ‘Get Wild’ or just for a nice day out with shopping, lunch and a movie!
We were given free entry into Get Wild and a voucher to use within the centre in return for an honest review. As always, all words and views are my own.
