HappyDays Linky #02

Before I say anything else I would just like to say a massive thank you to everyone who linked up last week. Jenna and I were both totally blown away by the support! Honestly we thought we might have 2 or 3 join in but in the end we had 17!! Many of the posts had us welling up too as it seems we are not the only ones to need ideas and motivation!

If you are new to the #HappyDaysLinky then welcome! I co-host with Jenna from Tinyfootsteps and our aim is to inspire others to make the most out of every day. Every week we will each choose 2 posts that we enjoyed- whether that be because they made us cry, laugh or inspired us to get going!

Last week I really enjoyed reading about Becky’s week over at Little O and Me. She was very brave and got out the paints- something I always struggle to do! Becky also managed to get out of the house by 9.30 every morning which is amazing! No days wasted when you are up and out bright and early!

Amy had me laughing over at Everything Mummy! She found to her horror she had a little visitor in her kitchen! Amy was also one of the only ladies linking in who managed to have some ‘me time’ (very jealous!) as she attended a Body Shop party with friends! I am hoping she got some goodies and used them this week!!

I look forward to reading about everybody’s weeks – hopefully you have all managed to have some more time to yourselves!

Out and About

Well, what a rainy week!! Not so easy to get out when it is raining cats and dogs! I didn’t think we were going to be able to write a single thing for ‘out and about’ but I tell you what, doing this linky does make me try harder!

Thursday we went to the park, it was pretty chilly but when you have been stuck inside the same 4 walls all week you need some fresh air! I was so glad we went as Little G and I had great fun with Sycamore ‘helicopters’. Passers by were looking at us like we were crazy – not sure they could see what we were doing, just looked like we were randomly throwing our arms about!

Fun at home

Last week I loved Jenna’s idea of using zippy bags to do mess free painting! I love crafts but am not so good with mess so this sounded perfect!! Lily could not have been less interested though- wanting instead to climb out of her highchair! I will have to try again when she is in the mood!

However, G enjoyed an afternoon of actual painting! I know- brave!

We also got into the kitchen and made a cake. I will not post a photo- those of you who saw my tweets will know it did not turn out well. #pancake

We also had fun dancing about in the living room, I have decided I miss having music on that isn’t child related so I have the radio channel on the tv on while I tidy every morning. Sets my mood up for the day!

Time for me

As the week was going on I thought I was going to have to say I had failed at this! However, I am not one to admit defeat so I informed Mr F that I was going to go take a bath and didn’t know when I would be back! HA! I made the bubbliest bath, lit the candles and took a book to read. Oh. My. God! I think I am going to have to make this a weekly thing!! I mean, at first I was wondering what they were up to (they had gone to Sainsbury’s) but after a while I just relaxed and shut out the world! I got out of the bath just as they came home and I was greeted with a lovely bunch of flowers. I NEVER get flowers so I was properly chuffed!

My Happiest Moment

I had to go to work on Wednesday, something I am still getting used to. I never wanted to have to leave my girls when they were young but needs must! I came home and Baby L was just waking up from her nap- as soon as she saw me she lifted her arms for a cuddle. They had both been fine with my mum so that was a relief too.

Next week I would like to…

I definitely want another bath, that’s for sure! Also I want some more activities for home, the weather is only going to get worse! G has a nice winter snowsuit though so she would be fine outside. Weirdly, Baby L does not have a snowsuit- not sure why she hasn’t inherited one from G (maybe she never had one at that size I lose track!)

It sounds like you've had a brilliant week, I'm very impressed that you ventured out on a lovely Autumn walk despite the grotty weather, your pictures are gorgeous! I remember throwing 'helicopters' when I was little too, that's definitely something I'd like to do with BabyBio when he's big enough. Well done you for making sure you had some well deserved me time, reading a good book in a bubble bath is just the best! xxx

LOVE those photos of you out on your walk, particularly the one of Baby L - lush!

I keep meaning to have a bath, maybe next week!

I definitely want to think of more indoor things too, especially if the weather is going to get worse!

Awwww what lovely flowers! I like the sound of a candlelit bubble bath too. I'll have to add it to my 'me time' wishlist.
