Yesterday I came downstairs wearing a Christmas jumper, a floppy hat and over the knee boots. Mr F looked at me as if I had completely lost the plot but I was feeling pretty happy with myself. I am confident enough in my own skin not to care what other people think of me and have learned to dress for myself, not for others.
When I bought my floppy hat the cashier actually said to me ‘I wish I could wear hats’. I told her that if wearing hats made her happy then why on earth didn’t she just wear a hat?
Life is too short not to be happy!
I have been stuck in a mummy rut for far too long and almost lost my identity. But thankfully I have realised that just because I am a mother in my 30s, does not mean I have to dress like my grandma! There was a time when I looked at fashionable clothes and longed to wear them, I felt as though my time had been and gone- that I was destined to be a frump forever. But why? Why shouldn’t I wear what I like?
Last week I bought a pair of over knee boots and I absolutely adore them! I had seen a few people wearing them and at first those little doubts came into my mind- could I get away with them? Would they suit me? But then I remembered- if they make me happy then I should try them! As soon as I put them on I knew I loved them- so I bought them!
I wore them to pick Little G up from school the other day. I won’t lie, I was a little nervous. I am one of the younger mums at the school and most of the mums wear trainers. But if they judge me on my shoes that is their problem, not mine.
Did anyone say anything?
Of course they didn’t. Well actually that isn’t true- one mum said she loved my boots! That made me smile from ear to ear I can tell you!
So yesterday, I left the house in my outfit and I didn’t care that my husband thought I looked ridiculous. I was happy and that was the main thing, right?
How about you? Are you happy with your style? Do you wear clothes that make you happy?

You didn't look ridiculous at all in this outfit - gorgeous! Although I'd love to know how you shoot these outfit posts. As a brand new blogger at feaststylethrive.com I want to include outfit posts but often I don't have anyone around to take the photos for me so I'm struggling!
This blog and your other one - liveloveblog - have been an enormous help to me in starting out and if you can take a quick look at my site to give me your expert opinion I'd be very very grateful xx

Ah thank you so much. This one I actually did ask my husband but a lot of the time I use my tripod and either have a timer set or use a remote. x
