Happy Days: Rain, sun and warm hellos

This has been one hell of a week! It has dragged no end and the rain has been ridiculous – actual rivers flowing down our high street at one point! Being stuck indoors can drive you a bit bonkers, can’t it? We have made the most of it with various crafts and dvd days and the girls have enjoyed themselves anyway. Thankfully Thursday saw sunshine again and we were able to get out – whoop!

What has made me smile this week?

– Facebook. For the longest time I haven’t really enjoyed Facebook as a blogger or as a person with my personal account. But I am absolutely loving it right now – I am connecting with real people and I am enjoying it so so much!

– Days out. Actually out of the house!! We went on a day out with Sian and her three, plus another mum and her two and had a lovely day in the sunshine.

– Library challenge. My girls are such book worms – they are definitely my children. They’ve completed the first part of their reading challenge and were so excited to share their books with the librarian!

– DVD days. We watched so many this week but one of our favourites was Swallows & Amazons – did you read it as a child? The movie took me right back there and made us all want to sail on a lake!

– Warm hellos & goodbyes. I shared an article on my FB page about how sometimes you can end up feeling like you are living with a room mate rather than a partner. It suggested giving a simple kiss hello/goodbye and saying ‘I love you’ and I have been trying it the last couple of days. It works, it really works!

Let’s keep fingers crossed for a sunny weekend and rest of the week – I want to do some gardening! (By gardening I mean shove some plants in the soil and end up killing them by forgetting to water them).
