My Happy Capture: Share Your Happy Moments On Instagram

Oh I am so excited to be starting this project! I have been loving IG over the last month or so, very quickly becoming addicted to it! Of course I have had an account for ages but have never used it with any purpose, simply posting as and when I remembered. I certainly wasn’t part of the community, barely remembering to post let alone comment or like anyone else’s photos!

This all changed when I heard the lovely Lucy (Capture By Lucy) talk at Blog Camp Vibe a few months ago. Hearing her passion for IG made me look at it in a whole new light. I have now become a little addicted and I would say it is my favourite platform. It is the first app I open when I look at my phone and I love nothing more than scrolling down my feed or finding new people to follow.

Something Lucy recommended was using hashtags. She has her own of course and recommended a couple others she likes to use. I really like this aspect of IG, it really helps you to feel part of a wider community. Unlike hashtags on Twitter, which have never really been something I have got a handle on, I am really loving using them to help promote my photos and find like-minded people.

A couple of weeks ago I decided to look into setting up my own hashtag. I want it to compliment my blog and something to go hand in hand with my Happy Days linky. So without further a do, let me introduce you to….

#MyHappyCapture is a hashtag to celebrate your happy moments, those that make you smile. I have been using it for a while now and am really excited to build up a community, to find photos that encompass happiness. It may be a photo of your kids, a photo of you, a photo of your pet or an object that brings a smile to your face (cake is always good for that!).

I mentioned to Sian (Quite Frankly She Said) about the project and asked it she would like to be a co-host. So the two of us will be seeking out your photos and at the end of every month we will pick our favourite captures- showcasing your account in a post on our blogs for others to find you!
