Going With The Flow

I am not one for going with the flow ordinarily, I like plans and lists and hate surprises. However, with my new relaxed hat on I am trying really hard to be more fun and go with the flow.

The other day it was really sunny and Little G asked if we could have a picnic. I love picnics but normally I plan ahead, get the stuff in and all is well. She must have thought all her Christmases had come at once because for once I said … yes!!

We had made flapjacks that morning so we already had one thing to take, all we needed were some sandwiches and some other fun bits and bobs. We were sent some fab Sistema food containers and this was the perfect opportunity to take them for a test run! I have a bit of an obsession with storage and food storage is no exception!

She wanted to invite my mum so we rang her up and told her to get round to ours asap! She loves a picnic and spending time with her two grand-daughters is her favourite thing in the world. She also said she would make the sandwiches- bonus!!

Just as we were about to leave I realised Mr F had L’s carseat!! (grrr) but instead of cancelling I said I would walk while G went in the car with my mum. I may have got a little bit competitive and raced them there- and won!! (that makes it sound like they were lazy driving but it is 2 miles drive, shorter walking…. and they are lazy 😉 )

It was such a lovely afternoon and I was so glad that I said yes, days like these create memories of fun times spent at home, those are the moments I will treasure.

oh and in case you are wondering I did race them back home again and yes I did win… almost having a heart attack in the process! Haha!
