I love clothes, I always have. I lost my way for a long time after my teenage years and fell into a ‘must dress like a grown-up’ trap. Throw in three kids and I lost my sense of style completely. But, the last few years I have finally started to feel more like myself again and have realised I can wear whatever I like, no matter my age.

I chose 3 different looks from the Femme Luxe website, some for daytime and some that I would wear out for an evening now that we are able to go out more post-lockdown.
Green co-ord set
I have been a little hesitant to wear co-ord sets as I didn’t want to look all ‘double denim’ but I couldn’t resist this set after I’d chosen some co-ord loungewear last time.. The material is such that it would be perfect for lounging around the house but would also look great for a night out. You can dress it up with heels or dress it down with a pair of cute flats – either way it is comfortable and stylish.
I would probably have preferred the top to be a little bit longer but that is just because I am tall at 5′ 8″ and everything is always shorter on me.
It has a ribbed design to the material which adds a bit more interest with both top and bottom being of the same colour. And of course you can grab it in other colours too – I just fancied being a bit bold with the green.

Geometric crop jumper
I absolutely love this jumper. It is a little bit like a shrug in terms of length, except you pop your head through a head hole instead of wearing it around your shoulders.
I wore it for drinks with a friend and I felt so ‘put together’ teaming it up with a black dress. I dressed it down with a pair of boots but you could easily dress it up with heels too. Equally, you could wear it in the day with a pair of jeans and some trainers for a more casual look.
The knitwear material is soft and thick enough to keep you warm but thin enough that it is a lighter jumper rather than a thick woolly jumper for winter.

Blue check ‘Shacket’
This is my new favourite piece for the season. I had seen the ‘shacket’ (shirt meets jacket) trend hit instagram last year and decided it wasn’t for me. But the more I saw people wearing them, the more I warmed to the trend. When I spotted this on the Femme Luxe website for such a great price I knew I had to have it.
The material is super soft, the design is a classic box jacket and it has pockets – what more could you ask for?
It literally goes with everything too. Wear it with a black dress to add some casual flare to an evening outfit or wear it with jeans to have a daytime stylish look. I really just love it!

Is Femme Luxe true to size?
All of my pieces fitted me well and I ordered my usual sizes. If you prefer a looser fit then I’d definitely size-up though.
Sizes range from UK 6 to 14.
Is Femme Luxe good quality?
All of my pieces were really well made and I was especially impressed by the thickness of the material of the dress. With prices being low, affordable material is to be expected but I was pleasantly surprised with the feel of it all.
How fast is delivery?
Femme Luxe offer next day delivery, weekend deliveries, as well as standard 3-5 day delivery. They also include a pre-paid returns label in the order so you can easily return any unwanted items.
