Planning our Cyprus holiday

Since having our children we have not been on any holidays abroad as I have been a bit nervous about flying with newborns. However, now that they are getting a bit older we have decided that next year will be the year! We have been looking for a while now and I thought I would share our planning journey for our Cyprus holiday.

We have been wanting to go away with our friends for ages. The last time we met up we decided to actively have a look online to see where we could go next summer. We really liked the idea of a holiday in the sun. That’s why, we decided to opt for all-inc option and we found First Choice to have the best selection. Many people have the misconception that all inclusive is more expensive but once you account for meals out and drinks then other options soon add up!

None of us have been to Cyprus before, it is just south of Turkey, east of Greece and being in the Mediterranean it is a perfect escape from the unpredictable British summer! Decision made.

So once we had settled on the destination we had to decide on a region. Quite a few people have suggested Paphos as a great place to visit and by the looks of it there is certainly enough to keep us busy.

We are not ‘sit by the pool and roast’ kind of people, preferring to mix it up with excursions and see local places. Cyprus is known as Aphrodite’s Island and is full of ancient Greek culture. I really like the look of the Treasures of Troodos excursion, finding out about the Cypriot lifestyle of the past.

The kids will not be let down either with Fasouri water park on the island. I say kids but lets not pretend the men don’t love sliding down the water shoots! I myself will find a nice rubber ring to float in!

Of course no family holiday would be complete without a beach day (or two) and Coral Bay looks beautiful with its golden sand. It has shallow water too which is perfect for the little ones to paddle in.

I am like a kid in a sweet shop looking at all of the hotels on offer. There are so many to choose from and they all look great. We want somewhere near the beach, with a pool and fun activities for the children to take part in if they wish.

We want to be in Coral Bay to be near its beaches so the Hotel Crown Resorts Horizon meets all of our needs. The pools look very child friendly and they offer entertainment every evening. My favourite feature is the swim up bar, cocktail anyone?

From £316 per person you can’t go wrong can you!

So that is it! Holiday planned and ready to book! I am beyond excited!!

Are you planning a holiday for next year? Where do you fancy going?

Ahhhh, Cyprus looks absolutely gorgeous. I've always wanted to go. It looks beautiful and that beach is my idea of paradise. Just look at the colour of that water! We always go all inclusive when we go abroad. It just makes everything so much easier. I can't wait to read all about your holiday next year. Hugs Mrs H xxxx #brilliantblogposts

Gorgeous post, my parents are both originally from Cyprus so I'm a British Greek Cypriot (born here) but I've spent many a holiday there since the age of 4! A stunning country with so much to do and see, my Dad is from Paphos, my Mum from a village near Larnaca so we've stayed all over and always stay in hotels-there are some absolutely stunning ones in Paphos! Ooh have a fab time next summer! Thanks for linking up x
