I have been looking for a car seat for Little G for a while now. She had outgrown her old seat and after reading all about booster cushions I needed to make sure I chose the perfect seat.
Working with Britax has opened my eyes so much and thankfully I am able to pass the information on to you, so you can make the best decisions too. I will admit that in the past cost has been a factor when looking for car seats but now I feel so ridiculous for putting a price on safety!! No savings in the world are worth more than my child.
With that in mind I do not want to throw money around when there is no need so I used their fit finder tool and found the perfect seat for our car- The Britax Evolva 1-2-3 Plus. As soon as I saw it I knew it was the one for us!
The Evolva is suitable for age 9 months – 12 years (or 9 to 36kg) so it will be able to grow with her as she gets older. Obviously she is older than the earliest stage but it will still last her for the next 8 years or so which is fantastic!
The headrest is adjustable and I like that it cradles her head- the wings are cushioned so would be great in the event of a side-impact collision.
One thing I really wanted to have in a car seat was an easy to adjust harness. Her old seat was so difficult to adjust, I would almost break my arm trying to pull on the strap!! The Evolva is smooth and it also has the Click & Safe system which I really like. When the harness is at the optimum position you hear a click- great for my mum who never knows how tight to pull it!
Nifty little cup holder on each side of the seat!
Strapping it in is easy- feeding the seat belt through the back and pressing in with your knee to get the perfect fit. I still seem to be the only one that is able to do it though (and that has been the same for any of the car seats we have had). Mr F really struggles with installing them- just shows how many other parents must be struggling out there too!
We also bought a Britax Prince for LJ as she was like a sardine in her baby seat at 18 months. I am really pleased with myself for waiting so long. I am ashamed to say I moved Little G into a bigger seat when she was 9 months old- far too young!
I am really happy with the girls’ new seats and know they are in the best hands with Britax, I couldn’t be happier!
If you haven’t read about booster cushions and why you need to bin yours in favour of a high back booster seat then head over here!
Is your child due an upgrade?

We were sent the Evolva as part of my work with Britax, all thoughts and words are my own and as you can see, we love Britax enough to have bought another one!

Clara is still in her baby seat at 14 months and she's starting to get a little big so will have to move her into a bigger seat soon. We bought a bigger one from mamas and papas but we need another one so we have one in both cars. It can get very expensive!

It can get expensive but then I remind myself that the cost is nothing compared to the loss I would feel if anything happened to them. x
