Tidy Books Book Box Review

We love books and have them dotted about all around the house. The girls have a bookcase in their room, as well as built in shelves on their bunk beds. Baby already has a sling bookcase in his room, ready and waiting for him to start his own collection of books when he arrives. We are lucky to have a playroom too and they have another bookcase in there – we have them coming out of our ears!

The one place that needed proper storage though was the living room. We had some of their favourite books, the ones we read every day, stored in a wicker basket. Nice in theory but actually they were starting to get a bit battered and misused. I am a real stickler for treating books with respect and the sorry state that was the book basket was beginning to get me down. I would tell the girls to tidy away their books and then get annoyed when they looked like they’d been shoved in. But really, I couldn’t blame the girls as it was not a sensible way to store them.

I had seen Tidy Books popping up on my FB feed and had thought how fab their units looked. So when they got in touch I was delighted to get the chance to share their product with you. If you haven’t seen them then go take a look as their bookcases are so lovely. I chose their book box, in natural, to match the light wood in our living room. It isn’t too big, actually it is about the same size of the basket we had before, but it means the books are stored neatly and in a way that the girls can take one out (without rifling through a whole pile) and are able to tidy them away easily afterwards.

I like that it has the clock at one end too. I am all about giving children every opportunity to learn and so this is a great use of space that could have otherwise been left blank. Little G is showing an interest in time at the moment so it couldn’t have come at a better time actually.

So all in all, with being a lovely unit and a much more effective way to store books, we love it! We may have to get another one as our book collection grows!
