Welcome to HappyDays! The idea of this linky is to inspire others to make the best out of every day, to see the happy in the little things. As no matter what, there is always something good in every single day- we just need to take the time to see it. Share your happy posts, I love to read them!
Do you ever get in a mealtime rut? I am terrible for it and often go through phases of trying to be adventurous. In the end I get bored and slip into my old ways (shepherd’s pie anyone?) but this week has been one of the fun weeks. I spent a good few hours browsing Pinterest the other night, trying to get inspiration from the photos in my feed. I then made a very long shopping list of the ingredients I would need.
One of the things we decided to try was making our own pizza. Obviously this isn’t something totally new or out there but we have never made our own as a family and it sounded fun!
I enjoyed getting all of the ingredients ready, using half the dishes in the cupboard and clearing the table to make room for it all. I had bought some gluten free bases for LJ so she could join in too, as you know from last week’s post she is making progress and so was able to have a small sprinkle of cheese- just amazing!
I don’t have any photos of the process, it was not about blog time, photo time or anything that would get in the way of family time. It was just nice to be able to sit down and mess about creating pizza mountains of sweetcorn and every other ingredient under the sun!
We don’t spend enough time together as a family, not quality time. Sure we are in the same building most of the time but chores and technology often get in the way. The sad thing is I don’t even know how to change it, it is the way of the world now isn’t it? Banning technology is just banning progress and I wouldn’t want to hold my children back in the world. However, I do think we need to find more opportunities to act a little silly and have fun as a little family.
We are off on holiday all of half term, back on Friday. I am taking the whole week off, having a couple of scheduled posts but that is it. I want to reconnect with my family and enjoy the sea air. The main reason we are going though is to be a part of my friend’s wedding- we are all bridesmaids! So excited! Keep an eye on instagram for bridesmaid duties throughout the week, it is going to be great!

All I can say is good for you!! the pizza looks yummy, and you're so right to just take time out and appreciate family time. I struggle with the need to feel constantly online but also wanting some "away" time. Have a wonderful week and I look forward to the wedding pictures X
