How to Start The Day Right

Inside: How to Start The Day Right. Collaborative post.

They say that you should start as you mean to go on. If you start something positively, then that’ll set the tone for everything that follows. You can apply this theory to everything, including your day. If you begin your day in a positive manner, then you’ll find that more often than now, the whole day runs smoothly.

On the other hand, if you start the day in a frantic, stressed manner, then it would be a surprise if suddenly everything turned around and you had an awesome day.

So let’s make sure that you’re starting the day correctly. In this blog, we’ll run through some tried and tested tips that’ll push you in the right direction.

Build a Routine

You can’t expect to start the day well if you haven’t slept correctly. A poor night’s sleep will lead to a difficult day; it’s like you’re pushing a rock up a hill all day long. There’ll be times when you sleep poorly, but they shouldn’t be the norm.

You can foster good sleeping habits by doing things that make reaching the land of nod more straightforward. Examples include going to bed at the same hour each night, investing in the comfort of your bedroom, and avoiding things that disrupt sleep quality, such as looking at your screen too close to bedtime.

Avoid the Screen

And now, let’s move to the morning. Many people reach for their smartphone the first moment they wake up, but there’s surely got to be a better way to start the day. There’s very rarely any good news these days, so you’ll only be getting the day started on the wrong foot.

You’ll likely be looking at a screen all day long, so give yourself a break. It’d be much better to stretch or meditate rather than scroll through Instagram.

Go for a Run

It can take a while to wake up. Indeed, for some people, it’s nearly 11 am before they feel fully awake and alert. You can speed up this process significantly by going for a morning run.

It won’t be something that you’re all that thrilled to do at first, but you’ll very much be happy that you made the effort once you’re done. You’ll have a buzzing energy that’ll set you up for a great day.

Caffeine and Breakfast

You’ll need energy to get you through the day, but you surely do better than instant coffee and cornflakes. Look up some delicious coffee flavoured recipes and quick, healthy, and tasty breakfast recipes, and you’ll be able to have a breakfast of champions, each and every morning.

Remember, they do say you should eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a pauper!

For the Brave: A Cold Shower

If you’re feeling extra brave, then turn the water handle all the way to cold when you’re in the shower. It may not be pleasant, but it’ll wake you up like nothing else; plus, cold showers have also been shown to relieve anxiety and depression. Perfect!
