HappyDays Linky #11

Welcome to HappyDays! I co-host this linky with Jenna (Tiny Footsteps) so please do remember to go over to her post and say hi! We want to inspire you to make the best out of every day, appreciating the little things in life and having happy days.

I was in tears by the end of this week’s letter to CocoPops. A happy moment watching a daddy playing and Cocopops laughing reminded Mamma to enjoy the little things. The quote at the end of the letter was enough to send me over the edge. Just beautiful.

Before I start with my week just want to let you know this will be the last #HappyDays of the year. The 20th and 27th December are too close to Christmas and we want everyone to enjoy being with their families rather than worrying about blogging or commenting. I will still be around on Twitter though- am definitely a bit too addicted to it! We will be back up and running on the 3rd of January and I will look forward to reading all about your Christmases!!!

Ok over to me….

Out & About

We managed to go find the Gruffalo on Sunday! You can read all about it here. It was so nice to get out of the house! We went with my brother in law and his wife and I think all of us adults were more excited than Little G!

We had a lovely day meeting up with friends on Wednesday. Little G has known J and M for most of her life now and they are just too cute together. We haven’t seen eachother in absolutely ages so it was so nice to catch up. My friend is studying to be a midwife, I am so jealous I would love to be that special woman to a mum. I will never forget my midwives.

Fun at Home

We made some snowdough at the beginning of the week. So easy to do – shaving foam and corn flour. If you pop it in the freezer is actually feels like snow, so weird!! I think we needed a bit more shaving foam as it was a little difficult to mould and my snowman ended up looking a bit sorry for himself!

We started putting up some decorations around the house at the beginning of the week. It is really hard not having a tree up, especially when I keep seeing my Instagram feed full of beautiful trees! We have put a mini tree in G’s room and put a few things here and there. Not long until L turns 1 (argh!) and then we will be able to put the tree up!

On Thursday we finished the Christmas bauble cards we started last week (the potato stamping) and Little G enjoyed sprinkling glitter all over them. So simple to make and all of the grandparents and aunts and uncles will be thrilled with them (cough cough..)

Time for Me

I haven’t done much on my own this week although I did have fun making my Avon makeover vlogs. I barely have time to brush my hair these days but my new years resolution is going to be to spend more time on myself as I always feel better when I have made an effort. I am bringing the resolution forward so include Christmas as normally I shy away from photos but I want to be in them this year and I want to feel confident doing so!

My Happiest Moment

I read a few uplifting posts this week, uplifting in the sense that they inspired me to take myself seriously as a blogger. So, I have been trying to be more brave and put myself forward for things. Excitedly those emails have paid off and that made me so happy!

I am also going to be starting a new feature in the new year called ‘Real Mums’. I am going to be ‘interviewing’ a mum each month and hopefully the posts will inspire mums and make them feel like they are normal- that we all have highs and lows etc. I would love it if you lovely ladies got involved so if you want to find out more pop me an email (katy@whatkatysaid.com) or mention in the comments and I will send you more info. xx

Next week I would like to…

Put up my treeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

I don't know why but I laughed at the shaving foam snowman for a good few minutes. :'D

I'm so proud of you for taking steps to take yourself and your blog more seriously.

Have you put your tree up yet?!

I've never heard of that fake snow, but sounds fab. Will have to remember it for when Pumpkin is older - you know, an age where she won't just eat it all! You should deffo be more confident about your blog - it's great! Have a wonderful Christmas! I'll miss the linky, but I'll still be doing my weekly post anyway - I love the way it makes me do a weekly re-cap. :-)

Aw thanks Shannon. Feel free to add both posts in the new year so we can all catch up :-) Definitely save it for later, there is also another one called bubble dough I am going to be trialling this week - cornflour and washing up liquid. We shall see how it turns out! xxx

I love your shaving foam snowman! I might try making this with Bubs. What's the ratio of foam to cornflour?

The potato stamp Christmas cards are too cute for words. I'm sure Granny and Grandma will love them!

I put in a few table spoons of cornflour and then just kept spraying foam until it looked like snow haha. Nothing specific just have an experiment. :-) I got G involved in mixing it with a spoon although actually it was hard to combine so we ended up using our fingers like we were making a crumble lol x

Yay, so pleased you found a Gruffalo Trail nearby! Looks like you had a fab family day out :)

Snow dough sounds like good fun, and I think the bauble cards look ace.

I'd love to be involved in your Real Mums feature.

Happy Birthday to L! Jess xx

Normally I have it up Dec 1st but I didn't want to have L's birthday overshadowed by a tree etc. Her party was today so the decorations will be up asap! xx
