Change the storage
Every year, our kids get older and require different storage needs. Storage and accessibility are essential if you have multiple kids heading off to school as the mornings can be intense. Having good storage can be the difference between being on time with everything. Get ahead of yourself and plan your storage now so that you can be prepared when back to school rolls around.
Fresh plants
Depending on where you are in the world, this summer has been rather disappointing. One way that you change things is to brighten up your bedroom with plants. Having plants in the bedroom can help you to sleep better as they can remove pollution and put more oxygen into the air. And they can look amazing too. If you don’t have a green thumb, you can try some hard to kill plants such as a spider plant or aloe vera plant.
Throws and cushions
As the winter rolls around, we will start wanting the cosy comforts to keep out the cold. Now is a great time to invest in some chunky knits and cushions for the living room. You don’t have to pop them out on display now, but you can if you want. The summer is a great time to stock up on the chunky stuff as it tends to be cheaper or on sale as there is limited interest. Use this to your advantage and stock up early.
Change your artwork
Having art on the walls is a great way to change the look of your home. However, it isn’t a bad idea to change things up from time to time. You can easily swap the pictures in the frames for something new or change the look with new art and new frames. If you have canvases hanging on the walls, they can easily be swapped out for new ones. Depending on how the hooks or nails are attached to the walls, you can make the frames bigger or smaller. And, when you get bored with the pictures, you can swap them back to the old ones or get some new pieces.
String lights
This might seem like a strange one but string lights can completely change the look of a room with very little effort. And they are great for kids’ rooms too. There are plenty of different designs that can provide a feeling of wonder or cosiness in your home. They are really great for parties as they can create an ambience for your guests to enjoy. You probably already have string lights outside that have stayed up all summer, but string lights in your home can go up and down as you need them.
