Inside: Review of the Kurio Watch 2.0 – the ultimate smartwatch built for kids

Kids toys are getting more advanced by the minute, aren’t they? I think my brain would have exploded if I’d had half the toys the girls have these days.

To be honest, it still amazes me with the things they can already do at such a young age!

Gracie is obsessed with 2 things at the moment; telling the time and adding up high numbers. She’s been banging on about getting a calculator for ages now, so when I was offered the opportunity to review the Kurio Watch 2.0, I knew she would love it!

The watch comes with 2 straps, with a choice of pink/purple or red/blue. She chose the pink/purple as she loves pink and Lils loves purple and she thought they could share, bless her.

The purple strap is also a thermal colour changing strap and will turn blue when warm, which is cool. The whole watch is also scratch and splash resistant – perfect for my clumsy girls!

There is so much to do, Gracie has been enjoying exploring all of the different games and apps. Her favourite is the calculator of course and she has been adding and subtracting all sorts of huge numbers.

She also loves the language app – it tells you the words and phrases and is perfect for those who are beginning to take an interest in languages. She is learning French at school, so this was a great addition for her.

Features include: 

• A watch – first and foremost it tells the time.
• Camera & Video – they can take photos and videos on the go.
• Messaging – If you know someone else with a watch, you can message them. It is also compatible with Android devices.
• Apps & Games – including Tic Tac Toe & Battleship which are my favourites!
• Motion Detection Games – Snake is one example – remember that one?
• Emergency app – You can add in emergency contacts and important medical info here.

There are other features too, honestly there are so many things to keep them busy! She loves the music player and the fact that she can set an alarm for each morning (I made sure it was set to a reasonable time!!).

Just like adult smartwatches, it comes with an activity tracker which is great. With reports of child obesity on the rise I think it is important for them to be able to keep track of their own fitness too.
