Happy Days: A Mini Win For Me And My Blog

Sometimes, just when you need it, a little boost comes your way. This week I went to the Next Blogger Event in London and I had such a great time. I have come away full of renewed inspiration for the blog and feeling blessed to have some really lovely people in my life.

The day was full of great food, lots of laughs and a great blogger panel discussion. There was also a rather brilliant vending machine that dispensed Next jewellery every time you tweeted! I may have got a little overexcited by that! It was all held in The Soho Hotel- wow what a gorgeous venue!

The second part of the day was the Next Blogger Network Awards and I was very shocked to hear that I had been nominated for Best Family Blog. I wasn’t expecting my name to be called at all as quite honestly I just don’t have the self belief. But low and behold, my name was called out as a 1st runner up!

It wasn’t the award itself that made me feel blessed but more the way in which my blog was described in the build up. To be described as having gorgeous photos made me feel so happy- it is something I have been really focussing on recently and so to have a huge brand such as Next notice, well it was just an amazing feeling.

The winner of the category was Sarah from Extrordinary Chaos and I couldn’t have been more thrilled for her. Sarah is a fab blogger and has carved her blogging career through sheer determination and a passion for what she does – such a deserving winner. We were sitting next to each other as our names were called out and afterwards sat there as pleased as punch, big smiles on our faces.

I often doubt myself, it is a part of who I am, but having a little recognition was just so lovely and gave me a much needed boost. I love blogging so much and after days like this I truly believe that I can do it!
