Shoes To Make You Happy

Over the last few years I have lost my way in the fashion world. I found myself wearing the same style of clothes day in day out and they didn’t make me feel good. A few months ago I went along to an amazing style course and I came away feeling inspired.

Fashion fades but style lasts forever.

When I was 18 I would wear all of the latest trends, I loved fashion and had the confidence to pull off the different styles. As I have aged I have lost that confidence and actually lost interest in fashion in general. I recently went shopping with my mum and she pointed something out stating that it was fashionable. I took one look and told her I didn’t care whether it was in fashion or not, I want to wear clothes that make me feel good.

Knowing that you want clothes to make you feel good is really quite liberating. Suddenly you look at everything you own with fresh eyes and I found myself giving so many clothes away as when I put them on they just didn’t do anything for my self confidence.

Shopping becomes a whole new experience too, you pick things up and really question how that item is going to make you feel. Take these shoes as an example, ordinarily I would have chosen black, I always choose black as it is the safe option. This time I chose pink- a bright and happy colour! When I put on my pink Mocks I feel happy and I walk along with confidence!

I loved moccasins as a child and they bring back such happy memories of summer holidays abroad with my family. These Mocks are so comfy and I will be taking them on holiday with me this year- to make my own happy memories with my little family. From now on I am not going to wear anything unless it makes me feel great and that includes my shoes!
