I have been sitting around waiting for Mr F to decorate our house for the past 3 years. I am not entirely sure when it became his job, I think the fact I had the babies meant he would get on while I kept them busy. I can’t really use that excuse now though can I?
After reading this amazing post I felt completely inspired and set about making my own plans for Little G’s room. I wanted to rearrange her furniture to make better use of the space and I also wanted to reinstate a book corner as she loves reading so much!
A new layout
The original layout had no thought put into it at all, we just copied the layout which had been used by the previous owners. I wanted to create more space so moved the bed around the corner so as to give the illusion of less furniture as you walk in the room.
Furniture and Accessories
As you walk in the door there is a cute little doorstop, I couldn’t resist it when I saw it. The theme of the room is fairies and butterflies so this was perfect!
She has so many coats and bags so this hangs just by her door.
She is my princess and so of course I had to get a canopy for her bed. This butterfly one fits the theme of the room nicely. I would love a pretty butterfly duvet cover too but she loves Frozen far too much for me to enforce it.
Little G has lots of my old toys and loves my trolls especially, this one likes to sit on her bed.
My lovely friend made her this when she was born and is making one for Little L too. Here is the ‘G’, isn’t it pretty? It sits above her bed and she loves it.
You may have seen my upcycling post the other day, I bought this bedside cabinet for £5 and painted it white with Little G helping. She chose the handles- makes such a difference!
Sitting on her cabinet is Alice and the White Rabbit, a gift from my mum when she was born. Little L has Goldilocks in her room, such lovely dolls.
She is obsessed with the days of the week so I bought this calendar for her. Everything is magnetic so she can change the days, seasons and weather as she pleases. It sits over her table and chairs where she loves to draw and write.
One of my favourite things in the room is her new dolls house. I picked this up along with the bedside cabinet for only £20- such a bargain! It came with furniture and is in perfect condition. I plan to paint it and make it beautiful at some point but for now it sits next to her book corner.
Little G’s favourite area is her book corner, she sits listening to her stories snuggled in the corner for hours on end! The lovely box is from Hobbycraft and she keeps all of her puppets and other story telling props inside. We have always bought all of our craft supplies there but recently I am buying more and more for the home!
It took me hours to make this tree but I am so proud of myself! I have always wanted to personalise our house and it really has enhanced the room.
At the bottom of the tree lives a little door. This is something I bought years ago when I found out I was having a little girl. Now it has the perfect place in her room.
Something that adds real magic to the tree are these wonderful glow in the dark wall stickers. In the day you can barely notice them but when darkness falls they glow bright.
So that is it, her room is complete and I am so pleased with it! I have discovered skills I didn’t think I had and a love of decorating! Now to do Little L’s room- watch this space!
We were sent the box and glow in the dark stickers for inclusion in this post. I only recommend products I love though- all thoughts and words are my own.

The room looks lovely and I especially love the tree. I want to do something similar to Pumpkin's room. Hopefully I can find the time before she turns 18... :-)
