Recipes for The Whole Family

I love cooking but most of all I love cooking with the girls. I am always baking bits and bobs with them, making brownies or cakes etc.. but have never thought to get them involved in making main meals. I am not sure why I have never thought of it really but when little dish sent me their new family cookbook it was like the penny finally dropped!

The book is really great, laid out well with gorgeous photos of the different meals. It is divided up into different sections: breakfast, smoothies, lunch & supper, savoury snacks and puddings & desserts.

Flicking through the book the smoothies immediately caught our eye. We had the ingredients in our fridge and so set about making one straight away. I have been looking for great smoothie recipes for a while now and their Red Smoothie is delicious!

As much as I wanted to turn to the back of the book and make one of the desserts I refrained (for now) and chose one of the main meals instead. We love pasta in our house and so their Beef Meatballs recipe looked lie a winner. We had fun making the meatballs together and the finished product looks great I think!

Next on the list is a savoury snack, if you saw my photo of Little G on Instagram yesterday you will know she is exhausted after school every day. I want to make some snacks for her to eat on the way home each day to last her through until dinner.

The whole book is great and something I really like are the annotations on each page showing you how your child can help out. There is also a little sticker chart for them to complete as they gain confidence with each skill. If you are looking for a fab cookbook then this is the one for you!

We were sent a copy of the cookbook but all thoughts and words are my own.
