Weekends away can be the perfect solution if you’re wanting to get out the house for a couple of days and explore somewhere new. There are plenty of gorgeous locations where you can find the perfect cheap holidays UK, and travel without breaking the bank.
This list will help you to narrow down the best place for your trip and maybe give you some ideas for your next holiday to add to the bucket list. Keep on reading to find out more…
Lincolnshire
Placed in the middle of the country, Lincolnshire is the second largest county in England, and has some amazing places to show for it. You could travel to Tattersall Lakes and immerse yourself in the wildlife it has to offer. This is a great location if you wanted to get out of the busy city and see some nature.
Or, if you prefer the seaside, Lincolnshire has plenty of options like Cleethorpes, where you can take your four-legged friend on a coastal stroll. Or, if you’re wanting to find out some history, you could visit the award-winning Cleethorpes Coast Light Railway, which dates from 1948, and is one of Britain’s oldest seaside miniature railways.
As well as these two destinations, Lincolnshire has a whole variation of locations for your ideal weekend away– which will you be visiting first?
Cornwall
Although it’s right down the bottom of the country, Cornwall is one of the most famous locations for a UK holiday – and rightly so. The Cornish coast is its famed for its world-renowned picturesque beaches – so it’s well worth the visit.
You could take a trip to the iconic town of Newquay Bay, where you can take up surfing for the weekend and really let your hair down. On the seafront, the Blue Reef Aquarium features an underwater tunnel going through a coral-reef tank with pufferfish, sharks and rays. Further inland, surrounded by tropical gardens, Newquay Zoo is home to lions, wildebeest and sloths!
This is a great location if you have little ones who need to run off some steam!
Isle of Wight
For those of you after a weekend filled with walking and fresh air, St Helen’s in the Isle of Wight is the place for you. This little village is located on the east side of the island, and was developed around the village greens. If you wanted to catch some great views, you must find a costal walk where you can follow the path and take in the scenery.
If you go at the right time of year, you can even take part in Bembridge fort walk near St Helens. It takes place annually, and is only possible when the tides are at their lowest, as those who take part walk through the sea to reach the Fort, normally out to sea!
Or, you could try something different and head to Whitecliff Bay, which has a shoreline of around three-quarters of a mile, with a sandy shingle beach which is over half a mile long.
If you head here don’t forget to pack your walking shoes!
