Happy Mothers’ Day everyone! I hope you are being truly spoiled right now- or at least putting your feet up for 2 minutes to have a cup of tea!
My mum has taught me many wonderful things, she has also instilled some truly weird behaviours! I thought I would share 5 of those things, just so you can laugh at how much of an oddbod I truly am!
- I cannot and will not cross the road unless the green man tells me to. This is obviously a good thing but I do get strange looks when the roads are totally clear and I am stood there waiting… and waiting….
- I do not ever pick up the phone if I do not know who is calling. Thank goodness for caller ID as before this I would not pick up the phone at all, I would let it go to answer phone first. This stems from my mother telling me that a murderer may be calling, to check I am home, so he can then come and kill me. Charming!
- On the same point I also cannot answer the front door. I will only ever answer for the postman and even then I am wary!
- I cannot drink the dregs of a drink. My mum always leaves the last bit in her coffee as she says it is all the backwash left in the bottom. I now do this for every drink including wine, which infuriates Mr F!
- Hoarding toilet rolls, if my stash falls below 10 I start to panic!! My mum is worse and always has a minimum of 18 in a tall tower in her bathroom.
So there we are, I am odd right? I am actually quite weird when I think of it- some things have developed all on their own without my mum’s help! Here are 3 things you can have for free!
- I cannot enter somewhere first, I always have to follow behind someone else. I am not sure why, I guess I hate the idea that everyone will turn to look at me as I walk in.
- I always have to eat something cold with a hot meal. So, with fish and chips for example I have to have cold beans. If I were to eat apple pie I would have to have icecream.
- My weird eating habits don’t end there, I mentally calculate how much of each thing I have on my plate and eat a little of each thing per mouthful so that by the last mouthful I have one of each thing (meat, potatoes, veg etc) left on my fork. Mr F always laughs if he notices I have unequal amounts left at the end – it really does bother me if I run out of one of the elements. Why? I have no idea!!
Is there anything weird about you? Or is it just me?

Loved this post Katy! I am the same, I will NEVER EVER answer the phone unless I know who is calling. I wait for them to leave a message then ring back haha. Happy Mothers Day. x

this is so true, I've picked up many weird traits from my mum. We had such a giggle about it one night after a few drink & also realised we have exactly the same laugh!
