A Smoothie a Day…

I have been trying to get us all back on track after all the chocolate and sweets we ate over Christmas. As a general rule we eat very healthily as a family, I want to set a good example for my girls so that they grow up knowing how to prepare healthy meals for themselves.

Sometimes you do need a helping hand to get the vitamins and minerals you need, if you aren’t able to eat them in their natural form- through fruit and vegetables. When I was asked to try the range of smoothies by Leader I thought it would be a good opportunity to increase the number of vitamins Mr F has in his diet! So, for a week he has been my guinea pig, road-testing the Superfood Detox Smoothie.

Leader Superfood SmoothieThe individual sachets can be found at Superdrug for £1.99

I had a sip of the smoothie, it has a distinct taste- I cannot put my finger on what it tastes of but if I were to try and describe it I would say ‘green’. It smells of strawberries though which is really nice. He thoroughly enjoyed having them every morning and was disappointed when the sachets ran out!

What does it claim?

Each sachet contains a mix of fruits, berries, herbs, and plant-based proteins as well as vitamins and minerals. Each sachet has the same information on the back and explains that vitamin C, iron, and niacin contribute to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue. Superfood Greens Fusion and The Morning Motivator also contains these key ingredients and delivers similar benefits, making it an excellent choice for reducing fatigue and promoting energy levels. It doesn’t especially mention how else it would detox, but it lists the ingredients on the front so it is clear what you are going to be getting.

So did he notice a difference?

Well, his exact words were ‘I feel empty’. I will let you take from that what you will. He said he feels healthier but possibly that is all in the mind. His quality of sleep has certainly improved- he is sleeping in a deeper state and wanting to sleep for longer whereas normally he wakes very early.

We were also sent samples of the Energy Boost and the Balance Smoothies but not enough for a fair trial. I really want to try more of the Energy Boost sachets though as I am forever complaining of being tired so would be interested to see the difference they would make.

Have you ever tried the Superfood Smoothies?

We were sent the sachets in return for this post, all thoughts and words are my own.

That's the problem isn't it? Fruit and veg are expensive just to mash up in a blender. x

We eat so much fruit and veg and make smoothies too. But I like the idea of a superfood smoothie. Might have to add to out 10 portions of F&V a day. Xxx

Yes it is the superfood bit that is important, getting in those vitamins that you wouldn't find in your average fruit and veg x
