Happy Days: Finding happiness in the little things

Welcome to HappyDays! The idea of this linky is to inspire others to make the best out of every day, to see the happy in the little things. As no matter what, there is always something good in every single day- we just need to take the time to see it.

I am writing this in a bit of a rush as we have got to get on with packing ready for our holiday and I have been out all day! Eeek! I used to be so organised, packing 3 weeks ahead of time, but now I am a last minute girl! I haven’t got around to commenting on last week’s – I promise I will catch up!

Now, I cannot carry on without mentioning the absolute atrocity that was the Manchester bombing. I have been completely heartbroken by it all, I just don’t understand how people can be so cruel. My heart goes out to all of the people affected, I cannot even imagine their pain. I have been watching the news with tears rolling down my cheeks, unable to focus on anything at all.

The thing is, when you have children, you have to carry on. I don’t want my sadness affecting them, they have no need to know about the cruelty in the world just yet. So our week has carried on, selfishly, as normal. The thing is with terrorism though, is they want to break you, they want to knock you down. So despite the sadness, we have to carry on, to show them we are stronger than they give us credit for. They will not break us. The spirit of Manchester has shown that.

So what little things made me smile this week?

– BlogOn. I was actually in Manchester at the weekend, which made it all the more real for me. I saw so many of my blogging friends and met some for the first time. Such a crazy world – to talk to people every day and never actually meet.

– Toothy peg! Will’s first tooth popped through on Tuesday and explains his behaviour of late. He has been dribbling forever but the last few weeks he has been unusually sad. If you ever see him he is constantly smiling but he has looked so sad it has broken my heart! He is still unhappy at the moment but at least I know why now.

– Vlogging. I hit 1500 subscribers the other day and it is still rising. I have been documenting my decluttering journey on my channel and people are loving it. I filmed my kitchen today – such a mess to start but by the end it had transformed!

– Tea party. We went for tea and cake at a country home near us. We went a couple of years ago so it was really nice to go back again with Wills. The photo above was taken there and I love it.

– Dresses. This weather is amazing isn’t it? I am really hoping it will stay like this all of next week for our holiday! I cannot wait!

– Our patio. I mentioned a few weeks back that I bought a new patio set. We have had dinner outside every night this week and I have loved it!

– Painting. The table has also been used by the girls to do a bit of painting. I normally grumble when they suggest getting the paint out but I was so glad I said yes as it was so lovely!

I hope you are ok, that your loved ones are safe and well. Have a lovely weekend.
