Facepaints, Impressive Dinosaurs and the best birthday treat ever!

This is the first year we haven’t done a birthday party for Little G. I did consider it but as her birthday is in September I would have had to arrange it before the summer holidays- difficult when she didn’t know who was going to be in her class. I talked it through with her and we decided she could have a birthday treat instead. She saw an advert for Legoland on tv and so the decision was made. Thankfully Mr F gets a discount through work as it is quite frankly extortionate otherwise! Still it ended up cheaper than a party so that was great news for our bank balance!

I snuck into her room early Saturday morning and whispered ‘happy Legoland day‘, now imagine a child at Christmas- that was her right there, excited doesn’t cover it! The whole journey there she was like a buzzing bee in the back, asking whether we were going the right way and whether we were nearly there yet! We are only about an hour away so it wasn’t long until we saw the signs! I was excited too, I had never been as it didn’t exist when I was little!

We were so lucky with the weather, Mr F and I must have exclaimed that to each other at least 10 times – sign of old age that I am sure. It was perfect though, not too hot and not at all cold- unlike our trip to Peppa Pig World where LJ turned blue!! Or indeed our trip to Disney where we almost caught sunstroke it was so hot!

First stop was the driving school- it was the main thing she wanted to do and so we made our way to avoid the crowds. We only had to wait 10 minutes and before long she was driving around like a pro! I have mentioned before that she is a little bit obsessed with cars and her face was just beaming the whole time! When she was presented with her driving license she almost burst!

We were starving by about 11 o’clock and so sat down to have an early lunch while enjoying a pirate show in the arena. It was very good with big flips and huge splashes from the pirates. Little G was transfixed the whole time and kept turning around to see that I was enjoying it too!

It isn’t often a facepaint queue only has 2 children in it so we jumped at the chance to get her face painted. It was a little more expensive that I would like at £7 but I was feeling happy and how often does your little girl turn 4? She was pleased as punch of course and did look gorgeous!

One of the best rides of the day was the submarine ride, just a great idea and the girls were fascinated by all of the sea creatures!

One of LJ’s favourite rides was the carousel, she laughed and laughed the whole way around!

My favourite bit was the model village section, just brilliant really- the effort that would have gone into making all of the models, just fab!!

Now Mr F’s favourite part of the day was the imagination centre, where you can make anything your heart desires out of Lego! I am not very imaginative at all so don’t enjoy that sort of thing, however as you can see he is very creative and can make anything he sets his mind to…

LJ couldn’t quite believe it and actually every single person in the room had noticed his skills. One woman even took a photo!! Ha!!

It was time to go home and on the way up the hill to the exit Little G skipped along holding my hand. She turned to me and told me it was the best birthday treat ever, I couldn’t agree more!

Legoland didn’t ask me to write about our day out, just wanted to share it 🙂
