I love lists, I make them all of the time – perhaps two or three a day! One time I could not be without a list though is in the lead up to a trip! Nothing worse than realising you have forgotten something is there?
We are off on holiday next week and of course I have a running list of everything I am going to take. Hopefully I have everything covered but thought I would share the list with you in case you need inspiration too and if I have forgotten anything you can tell me!!!
Clothing
We are going away for one week so this is a list of items that will last us one week, also allowing for a change of outfit here and there.
- 3 summer dresses
- 4 pairs of shorts
- 2 skirts
- 6 t-shirts
- Sunhats
- Beachwear
We have these beautiful embroidered kaftans from Tortue De Mer for the girls to wear on the beach, they are going to look so cute!!
- 2 cardigans
- 2 x swimming costumes for the pool and/ or float suits
- 1 x protective swimwear for the beach
Did you know that when clothing gets wet it loses its protectiveness? Rash tops are the best thing for providing full UV protection on the beach. This one is from Splash About and is super cute!
- 3 nighties/ pyjamas (although I would imagine they will sleep with nothing on in the heat).
- Underwear for the week plus spares
- 1 pair of sandals
- Comfortable shoes for day trips
Eating
With Little L being so small I want to have our own equipment with us rather than assuming restaurants will have suitable cups and plates etc..
- Snacks and specialist food (L is dairy, soya and gluten free)
- 2 plastic plates
- 2 bowls
- 2 sets of cutlery
We are taking a few OXO Tots products with us, including this great snack cup- perfect for little hands!
- 2 beakers
- Enough bottles for the week
- Formula
- 4 dummies (can never have enough!!)
Toiletries
Babies and toddlers need a whole suitcase for these alone!!
- 2 packs of nappies.
- Nappy bags
- 3 packs of babywipes
- Body wash & shampoo in travel bottles
- Nappy cream
- Suncream – factor 50
I like the fact this factor 50 by P20 is a once a day suncream, meaning my girls will be protected throughout the day even after being in the pool.
Activities
Children need occupying on the journey and we have a long day ahead of us in the car and on the ferry. They will also need things to do in the evenings when we are chilling in our tent.
- Ball
- Colouring books
- Crayons
- Books
- Favourite cuddly toys
- Tablet
Now obviously once we are there I am not going to be having the girls sitting on a tablet when there is fun to be had in the pool. However while we are travelling, if Little G is bored then she can play one of her games on her LeapPad3. Something that really annoys me about children being on tablets is the noise they create. It is so inconsiderate to other people if a child is playing a really noisy game when people are trying to relax.
My Doodles have created fantastic headphones with sound limiting technology so I know that the girls will not damage their ear drums but will not annoy anyone else around them with annoying princess sounds!
Other
Not only do you need to take the normal stuff with you but there are the bigger items too!
- Pushchair
- Travelcot (although thankfully there is one provided for us!)
- Car seat (if you are flying and need one the other end, obviously we will be using ours the whole journey)
I am so excited to get packing as we have the newest additions to the Trunki range, Boris Bus, to take away with us!! Although I am actually going to be using them more like hand luggage and have the essentials in them for our journey and time on the ferry.
Essentials: Nappies, wipes, snacks, beaker, colouring pad and crayons, change of clothes, cuddly toy.
Is there anything I have forgotten?
We were kindly sent some of these items for our holiday this year. All thoughts are my own.

I always pack more clothes for my daughter. Just 6 t-shirts are not enough, because she needs at least 2 every day to change, and I rarely wash something in a holiday in order not to loose my time cleaning and washing. Therefore I always pack as much as I can!

Ah see we pack dresses too so those 6 t-shirts would be for say 3 days. In the end it was so hot they spent most of the week in swimming costumes so barely anything was worn. x

Great list, I am exactly the same and make lists about everything. Rash vests are amazing, your kids will live in them! X

Great list. Love that trunki!! I'm impressed at your streamlined packing. I always end up chucking a few things in at the last minute - just in case! I find now my daughter is older (nearly 3) the toys & books barely get used - it's all about the swimming pool!

you are so organised! your list looks fab, although i would suggest taking enough nappies for the ferry and then buying them when you arrive at holiday destination! Not sure where you are going, but I live in Spain and always bought TOUJOURS nappies from Lidl.. they are amazing and just as good as pampers but .. HALF THE PRICE!! xxx
(if you are going to spain, let me know!!)
