6 Ways To Transition Into A Spring Wardrobe - What Katy Said

6 Ways To Transition Into A Spring Wardrobe

I am loving clothes right now! After having an overhaul of my wardrobe at the beginning of the year, sorting everything into outfits, I am really enjoying getting myself dressed every day. I finally feel like I have found my style, combinations that I feel happy and comfortable in and can wear on the school run or on lazy days.

I am so looking forward to spring, aren’t you? In fact I am actually looking forward to summer but we have a way to go before then so I’ll have to make do with spring. I have been wandering around the shops eyeing up a few spring outfits but haven’t bought anything too lightweight yet as I would freeze!

But, that doesn’t mean I have to be stuck in winter clothes – I am sick of the thick jumpers and boots! So funny as I always love getting them all out as autumn ends but I am bored of them now and want to update my look as we transition into sunnier days.

So how have I updated my look?

Lighter knits

It is still cold but I am saying goodbye to the darker, thicker knits and embracing lighter colours and lighter fabrics. I adore my new jumper from Next – the shoulder detail is gorgeous!!

I got this skirt the other day from River Island – not shopped in there for years but it caught my eye and I love it. It is a suede look so a little bit of a winter feel but I had my legs out with my trusty Converse and felt a bit more spring-like.

Just wanted to show you the back of this jumper – I love it! Picked it up in New Look the other week, so soft too.

This one is from Gap – my new favourite shop! I have never shopped in there as I just thought they sold Gap hoodies, but no they have the most gorgeous things! All basics really but really lovely and totally my style (mum style it seems).

Yep, time to ditch the boots I say! I don’t tend to feel the cold in my legs or feet so I am more than happy getting my ankles out in my ankle grazer jeans too.

I am obsessed with pinafores, both for me and for the girls. I am also on the lookout for some dungarees so if you find any good ones let me know!

Lighter Jackets

As much as I do love my winter coat, I am absolutely loving my new rain coat. I happened to go in to New Look on the day they got them in stock and it immediately caught my eye! On the warmer days when you still need a waterproof, a lighter rain coat is what you need.

So there are a few looks I am going to be rockin’ at the school gate over the next month or so. A few jumpers still but introducing lighter colours and a few less layers.

What are you wearing at the moment? Still in winter wardrobe mode or looking forward to spring?

Ooh love the back of that jumper!!! You look amazing! I just got a lighter jacket as I get so hot walking about on the school run, usually in a hurry. I found a gorgeous little raincoat in primark really similar to yours but navy with red and white linings and cords, I actually saw your one in new look the day it came in too, love it!! Currently trying to overhaul my wardrobe too as I’m so sick of going through bita that don’t fit etc. I have some lovely black dungarees from Asda which I am slimming into and I can’t wait!! X

I love the Gap blazer, nice choice! I’m also on the look out for some perfect dungarees as I’m going to embrace them this year… not found any yet. It seems a tricky balance between baggy overalls and so tight that only a child should be wearing them. My quest continues…. x
