Men are so difficult to buy for, aren’t they?
I don’t know about you but I always end up buying unnecessary tat, plus a pair of socks for good measure.
There is another way…
A couple of years ago I stumbled across a little rhyme. I have tweaked a little but it makes gift-giving so much easier! It is basically a framework…
Something you want,
Something you need.
Something to wear,
Something to read.
Something to do..
& I love you.
I like to write little labels to explain each gift too and that makes it even more fun I think.
I thought I would share some ideas in case you need some inspiration for the man in your life.
Something they want
This dashcam from Nextbase is the ideal gift for technology lovers. They can save you money on your insurance and can help prove you aren’t at fault if involved in an accident. Win!
If you have a chef on your hands, these Copper Stone Pans from JMLdirect.com are a great gift! They reduce the need for oils, so are great for anyone looking to eat a little healthier in the new year too. Plus they look great, don’t they?
Something they need

So my husband is getting a new pair of shoes. He could wait, so I have made him wait – he will appreciate them all the more and we are teaching our kids that you can’t just have things whenever you want.
Something to wear
Find Me A Gift have such a lovely selection of gifts but this personalised watch really caught my eye. You can add any message you like, making it a truly personal gift for the man in your life.
If they have to go to work in a suit every day – why not make it a swish suit from Dobell. They have so many great styles and colours, all at really reasonable prices. This is the Grey
Something to read
Time is short – let them do the choosing by getting them an Amazon gift card. Of course if you know the book they want then go ahead and order it! But if like me you have no idea at all (plus the use of Kindles makes like trickier) then the gift card is the winner!
Something to do
We love board games and I have my eye on a couple more (Cluedo anyone?) but this
I have also booked for us to do a Virgin experience in London which is going to be so much fun! I think anything that you can do as a couple or as a family makes for a great ‘something to do’.
I have also filmed a video with a few more examples if you need them…
I hope that helps!
Some of the items featured were gifted for the purpose of the guide. Others I paid for myself. All thoughts and words, as always, are my own.
