Regaining control and confidence with Weight Watchers Flex #ad

Inside: A sponsored post showing my journey with Weight Watchers Flex

I’ve never really felt as though I overeat.

I eat three square meals a day and never buy treats.

… except for Fridays…

…. and I like to pile up my plate….

Oh.

Since I was a child I have been on the chubby side but with my height, I convinced myself that I pulled it off. And maybe I did to an extent, but if I am truly honest with myself, I am overweight.

I am overweight and it is because I eat too much and move too little.

Well, I ate too much and moved too little…

That was the old me.

The new me is a changed woman and I really have changed – it is like some sort of hard reset has been done on my brain and it is all thanks to Weight Watchers.

“It is choice, not chance, that determines your destiny”

A few weeks ago I was approached by the Weight Watchers team, asking whether I would like to try out their new Flex programme. Part of me felt like I didn’t really need it and that it probably wouldn’t work anyway (nothing else ever has) and so I very nearly said no.

But, I chose to say yes and it was the best decision I could have made!

For the past 5 weeks I have been following the Flex plan and at the time of writing this I have lost 13.5lbs.

Thirteen and a half pounds lighter than I was last month! I can’t believe it!

The plan is so very simple and actually, it isn’t really like a plan at all. It teaches you to be mindful of your intake and to try and move more.

And the best bit? You can eat absolutely anything you like!

Today I ate a cupcake and it was totally ok – no guilt required!

I am on the meetings + online membership, which means I have access to their app (which is brilliant by the way) and can go along to classes each week to get weighed and listen to my coach.

There are recipe books filled with different ideas for different meals and you can get snacks in meetings too. But actually, I haven’t really had to use those much, as with a little modification I have been able to eat whatever I like and still lose weight.

But how?

You are given an allocation of SmartPoints for each day and as long as you stick within those points you’ll lose weight.

Simple as that.

So I make sure that I eat plenty of the zero SmartPoint foods such as eggs and chicken so that I can use the rest of my allocation for everything else. It really is that easy!

In the past, on other diets, I have felt hungry and deprived of all fun things. This has meant that I have failed and binged – making me feel more miserable than I was to start with.

Weight Watchers Flex has given me back control, taught me that I don’t need to go crazy with the treats but that they aren’t completely out of bounds. It has also encouraged me to get moving – I am now doing 3 exercise classes a week and I love it!

Here is my month in 30 seconds…

I have found my confidence and so many of my friends have started the plan after seeing how great I am doing! I cannot recommend it enough and will be carrying on my journey, so would love it if you followed along via Instagram stories and YouTube to see how I get on!

Have you tried Weight Watchers before? How did it go for you?

This post is sponsored by Weight Watchers but as you can tell, I love it and will be carrying on!

  1. This post was exactly what I needed to see today. I’ve been struggling with my weight since having my baby a year ago and, like you (used to), tend to give up and binge because I feel deprived. Definitely going to give this a try and hope to be feeling just as fab and confident myself in five weeks!

Oh Clare honestly this has changed my life. It has taken determination not to just go crazy with Easter eggs etc but I just see the weight falling off and it pushes me to carry on. Good luck – let me know how you get on! xxx

  2. Wow! I’m glad you’ve found something that works for you. I never really know what to think of plans like this but if it works for you that’s amazing – besides, the results speak for themselves don’t they? Eating too much and moving too little really sums it up for me too. I’m a serial snacker and I work in an office – terrible combination!

  3. You have done so well and i am loving the sound of the app! I’ve tried Slimming World etc before but I end up so confused over what I can and can’t eat, that having an app to help sounds so good. I’m off to google local weight watchers meetings, as I have over 2 stones to lose and I am really struggling at the moment!

Oh Stevie I hear you! I tried SW and got so confused too! The app is amazing and keeps me on track for sure!! I had 2 stone overall and now just a stone left. If I can do it then anyone can!! xx

  4. Well done! I have heard a lot about Weight Watchers but I have to admit I haven’t tried it myself, perhaps something I should look into though as I could do with losing some weight.

  5. That sounds amazing! It’s awesome that you already lost 13.5 pounds. It’s important to find a diet that works well for your body so that it won’t also affect your health.

  6. I’ve never tried weight watchers, but I have heard really good things about it. I’m currently slowly piling on the pounds due to inactivity while I wait for surgery, and it’s so frustrating. I might try this once I’m finished with recovery.

  7. I’ve never tried weight watchers, I’ve never dieted in all honesty (I’m lucky I know!!) but my friends swear my it! My best friend has lost 4 stone on it so far!

  8. We’ve never tried weigh watchers as my mummy is a “everything in moderation” kinda girl and doesn’t like to watch what she eats or stick to a plan. When she feels her weight creeping up she starts moving more. But this sounds like a great plan! She’s a little over weight at the moment so might go and investigate x

  9. So happy for you, I have definitely been thinking about joining weight watchers flex to help me loose some pounds. Wishing you all the best on your weight loss journey

  10. Oh wow! Well one you! Congrats on the loss, and it does sound like one that’s much nicer to follow. I’m not keen on restricting myself so points allocation seems fair to me!

  11. That’s one of the things I love about weight watchers, it’s just so flexible. It suits everyone.

  12. So great to hear that you’ve found something that works so well for you. Congratulations on the loss.

  13. Hi
The diet you are following is it like the old filling & healthy and if you need to eat any thing you have to use your weekly allowance.
I did ww 5 years ago and lost 2.7 weight in all.

I don’t know of that plan but this one you get a daily allowance (according to your weight/ height etc) and you can use all of those on the pointed foods. There are lots of zero point foods though! You also get a weekly allowance on top of that which you can either spread out over each day, use in one go or not use at all – it really is flexible! x

  14. Hi Katy well done amazing in just 4 weeks do you use all your weeklies points to am joining tomorrow as fresh start to get some weight of for my holiday any tips you can advice me on xx

There are some weeks I don’t use them and others where I totally do. Both weeks I lose weight though, so just depends whether I really need to use the as to how much I want to treat myself vs how much I want to lose. Good luck! x
