Our weekend of fun with Haven, Devon Cliffs Park

Inside: A look at our weekend at Devon Cliffs with Haven

I was never an outdoorsy person, much preferring to snuggle up inside and read a book than go out and make mudpies.

Having children has changed all of that (and marrying an outdoor-loving man probably contributed!).

These days you can still find me snuggled up reading, but only after a day of long walks and adventures outside. I even own walking boots and a rucksack!

When we were asked to work with Haven this year, I knew it was a perfect match for us as a family. They have locations close to some of the UK’s most beautiful beaches and countryside, meaning you can use the park as a base while you go off and explore the local area.

Last month, we travelled down to Devon for a very exciting project indeed. We were invited to their Exmouth park, Devon Cliffs to take a look at some of the activities they have on offer for kids.

With three children, all different ages and abilities, I was interested to see what they would have and how it would cater for our needs. I am excited to say that everything was amazing and we all had the best time!

We arrived late on the Friday and were directed to our caravan, a Prestige newer model, which was perfect for the 5 of us. We were a couple of vans along from Emma (Brummy Mummy of 2) and her family as they too were along for the weekend.

After a great night sleep, we woke up ready for a day of adventures.

First up was Nature Rockz for some Pebble Art and Leaf Art. Both my girls love anything crafty so the fact that we got to do it outside was the best thing ever for them!

Such a cute idea, especially with the rock art craze that is going around at the moment. Have you joined in yet?

After a quick warm-up with a hot chocolate, it was back out for Junior Segway. Now neither of my girls have ever done it before but my goodness, Gracie was an absolute natural! You’d think she had been practising for years!!

Lils was a little unsure but after a little helping hand, she was whizzing around too! Such a fun activity – I want to try it myself now!

Now Aerial Adventures is something that Gracie has done before and so when she saw that she was going to have another go, she was super excited! That girl has no fear!!

Lils surprised us all by whizzing around too – both of them made me so proud!

We went for a show just before lunch and got to meet all of the Seaside Squad – aren’t they fab? They have several shows throughout the day and you always get to queue up to say hi to everyone.

One of the things we love about Haven is the family-friendly feel it has. You don’t feel like people go there, leave their kids and go off. Everything is planned with family in mind and that is exactly the kind of family we are.

You can’t go to the seaside without playing arcade games, can you? The girls were loving these 2p machines as they won over 300 tickets!

Obviously, you only win a couple of sweets for all of those tickets but that’s half the fun, isn’t it?

Being by the beach is one of our favourite things, even if it is freezing cold. So after lunch we headed on down to write our names in the sand and take a few photos.

Just love this shot of us all! Precious family memories to treasure forever.

The rest of the afternoon was spent visiting friends in the local area and relaxing in our caravan, ready for another day of adventures.

Sunday saw another dream come true for our little adventurer as she got to use a bow and arrow in an archery session.

And yep, you guessed it – she got a bullseye!

Now back in October we visited another Haven site in Poole and fed back to the team that we would love to see more toddler activities. And they listened!

Sunday afternoon was spent having lots of fun in sensory play and messy play – perfect for the little ones.

Lils was in her element getting messy – I don’t think she’s been a day in her life without being messy somehow!

Wills was just loving all of it. He knew it was just for him and the other little ones and he got stuck in with all of the activities.

Now, if you saw my Instagram Stories you’ll know that the snow set in soon after this activity and we were stuck until the following day. I cannot tell you how impressed I was with the Haven team. They let everyone on site stay in their caravans for as long as was needed until they could get home safely and nothing was too much trouble.

Customer service at its highest!

We are going to be staying with Haven again in the summer and I cannot wait! Always such a great family holiday with so many memories created.

Keep an eye on my Instagram over the coming months as I will be sharing more videos of our time – something I will treasure forever!

Have you ever been on a Haven holiday before?

This post is written as part of our work with Haven this year but all words and thoughts are my own.
